Perisher 34mm all at +ve temps (Village).
Keen to hear first hand obs this morning.
I observe you're up early or are you still at work and not slept yet .
No snow on South P cams. No snow on roads per RMS report. I’m thinking a tad wet.
Wow ! Look at the Merrits cams ! At least a foot of dry powder snow !
Lot of clear stuff all night at Island bend and hasn’t stopped yet
Read and contrast the perisher and Thredbo reports. Thredbo honestly describes wet slow snow, perisher glosses over the slop. At least perisher managed to avoid “Woohoo” as their key word
I'll have what he's having.
A dusting at Falls - off piste will be an ice block
Went to bed last night at Buller and it was raining but woke up to a beautiful sunny morning and what looks like a few cms of freshies.
Bit of breeze and sago right now
PV.... on the ground..it’s flowing in the carpark thus removing the layer of overnight slush . Currently very low vis, wind and unappealing..
No idea what’s gone on up high but it’s not promising at this point.
Things turning better at PV, rain has stopped and sun is coming out
This is such an amazing view.. can I ask, is that Buller? If so, from what location?
Melbs town had no more rain overnight, we received 3'ish mm... coolish now
Loading up the car for the trip to Jindy via 8 hours in the City. Or less if the boss turns his back
Yeah looks like Buller from the Jig
Yes, this is Buller taken from Sawmill. Almost clear up top now. Just a wispy bit of cloud clinging to the summit.
Sunny day now at Shredbo. Cracking day for it.
Best skiing between 1700 and 1850m
Totally clear at Thredbo. Rain crust and cold sugar snow at the top but it’s skiing nicely as it breaks up and warms up
I’m at Buller. It’s actually pretty nice considering.
I observe it was icy and tough turning but mine before the crowd arrived.
Should soften. Out wide and up high has had a net gain IMO.
Koscui, Twynam, Carruthers etc. should have 10-20cm of fresh on it, given the light-mod winds. Str8 out back is where I'd be today & tomorrow.
Corny and short.
That's just what I'm going to do!
and.... the Southerly hit while I was checking out a beachfront job.
instant cooling .
Quick flare-ups in Sydney town.
Friday arvo commute home for Sydney-siders is about to be thrown into chaos. Just in time.
Explosive convection inbound.
That little cell near Randwick made some noise, but not much rain. Looks ominous though.
Watch it really kick off over Sydney burbs in the next hour. Winds on the surface are all over the shop in the Sydney basin.
Trough passing Sydney in the next couple of hours.
Here we go, cross-grainer popped just West of Homebush. That's got the city on notice IMO.
TS Warning up just now (4:30pm).
Feels like midnight in Drummoyne. Why aren't the street lights on?
Sydney town gonna cop a beating. Looking very dark from N'Beaches
Just picked up 7mm in Bondi Junction.
Yep, just got a solid 15min bucketing in Randwick. Radar looks juicy especially on the southern parts of the city.
I had buildings obstructing my view of the SE of Bondi but looked like a waterspout eventuated once it hit the coast.
Discriminate storm sticking it to the Southern burbs... Line is moving West>>East
Its snowing at buller!!!!!!
This is heading my way
Certainly some very close calls as the latest cell moves through Sydney. Saw some spinning tails through the last sliver of light. Will post some poor photos shortly, just have to put the roast on...
Buller skied very well today. Soft snow, but spots of very nice skiing all around the joint. Some sun with quite a few clouds about. Tomorrow should be very nice.
ripped from NSW SES fb.
A mate just posted deep assed hail in drifts like snow in the inner west (Sydney)
It sure blew up fast after looking to miss us on the northern beaches.
was watching the trajectory & timing with school pick up for miss P.
Jindy since noon..
Heater isn't on
Nice day up at Perisher this morning once you drive up through the fog.
from a friends Facebook page,
already tracked out
Been raining at Buller the last couple of hours. Stopped for now.
