You reckon it’s gonna get even more marginal?
Temps look alright, but EC, Yr No precip figures are all in for Buller tonight.
IMO buller either does really well or gets skunked in a Northerly. Haven’t seen a Buller Northerly dump in a while TBH.
It will be if it happens. I'm thinking it's going to be mostly NW and then W(eterly)
N > W
What about last night?
EC favours more North for Buller. I am keen to see how it pans out.
But after all, @CarveMan is on location so it’ll probably puke it’s brains out.
I am keen also. Self-interest.
Not sure what was forecast last night but in all honesty the Buller AWS sits on the Tyrol Saddle (shadowed by the summit) so only ever knows of NW and N’ly if it’s anything >270 degree winds.
More north is always good for Buller. Looks workable on the Buller 10am Weds skew-t
Melbourne at 10pm Tues at 2135m it was from West exactly (270 degrees). What was it at Buller? Dunno. If anyone was out and about and can remember which way the wind blew them over please drop us a line.
It was so cold last night, it could have been blowing from Altona refinery and still would have snowed. Tonight is slightly different. I am betting on white.
This is the one I was worried about the other day. Does look colder now than it did back then.
Looks like someone clicked the wrong icon for tmw - still numbers are now way down on previous forecasts - making my call of 2m for SC on Thursaday toast.
BOM has gone all-in for Buller precip too:
Sure is a drought - tmws fronts look to dry up by the time they sweep across Victoria.
yr.no update shows the same lower amounts the BOM now has for NSW
This is beyond the dates of this predictions thread, but this Friday the 10th has BOM predicting a maximum of 20 degrees in Melbourne and windy. Jeepers. That is that blow torch someone was talking about? Although with this week's falls and what should come on the weekend it shouldn't matter too much...
Jane mentioned it in her forecast, it’s warm but will turn cold quickly with no pre-frontal.
I know it is slightly after this predictions thread, but what do you guys think about Thursday the 9th - major sources are differing - Bom partly cloudy, Jane Bunn early low cloud then sunny, Weatherzone sunny. Planning on heading up to buller so what do you think it's looking most likely to be? Cheers in advance!
Jane's is the happy medium forecast!
Go slide Buller on thursday will be a great day
Good visibility. Partly cloudy. Best chance of sun in the morning.Moderare N wind increasing in the afternoon. Temperature at around +3.
I'd hit it.
Similar question as above but for Friday.
Will be sunny but windy. How windy?
Thinking of doing a day solo session to Buller. Is it windy enough for holds?
Wind doesn’t bother me but chairlifts not running does.
Sunny. Warm. Very windy. Around +6 degrees. It's going to be borderline in terms of wind. Grimus, Howqua are almost certainly going to be on wind hold with 70km/hr+ wind forecasted. Sorry.
This is looking a good top up, perfect to repair any damage from the hairdryer and a bit more. Some chance of a 2m base by the end of the weekend or mid next week.
edit: @Claude Cat pls move to 11th thread.
