Sandpaper effect sago here at Guthega so retired to Burning Log. Knackered from the fresh down on the lower tree runs. Vis better down lower. Prolly 10 cents so far, maybe more.

Looks like the next dump has begun at Perisher. Yr.no says it should go for an hour hard then ease off a bit.

From my armchair in Sydney I observe a lot of people putting chains on cars in the Wilson Valley Chain Bay heading up the hill.

Hmm I observed this morning on a run up to Mt Stanley from Myrtleford, that at the top at 1050m it was trying oh so hard to snow. Very wet an windy should be good above 1500m at Falls an Hotham today for some good stuff.

Still snowing heavily here at Hotham.
Great powder runs at canyon, purgatory spur and lower playground.
Fantastic conditions away from the peaks.
Blue ribbon very good but could do with another 20cm.

    Today I observed:

    1. Snow on the road from Wilson’s to resort. Happy to say no accidents today that I could see. Some melt on the way out around noon but chains still being fitted!
    2. Car park full at PV and a few hundred metres down the road
    3. No lift lines but hundreds of toboggans. What Ban!!!!!
    4. Mount P triple ran for 30 mins but wind hold took precedence
    5. Eyre T bar running as slow as it physically can yet, International T going full tilt
    6. Snow depth was hard to measure. Ranged from sheet ice in wind impacted areas to almost pole depth in the heaviest drifts. I call an average of 30 cents in the higher areas benefiting from wind drift. Snow quality varied around the runs
    7. Skied plenty of fresh with @robbo till noon but low visibility was an ongoing issue
    8. Snow intensity picked up around 11:30 and looked set to continue
    9. Back at Moonbah there is periodic sun (snow) showers coming off the range purely due to the strong directional winds.

Touring kit at the ready just as soon as the weather clears.

Light moderate snow all day at Hoth. And it’s cold so conditions have remained excellent all day. Blue ribbon a treat and the steeper stuff off the Village circuit sides lovely and fresh.

Coming up, lowest I’ve ever put chains on.

About 10cm on my car roof when I got back to the car park (9am to 4pm). Great skiing all over the mountain.

I'd say 10-20cm system total. Snowing all day. It was good everywhere, but amazing in a select few locations. Grimus and Tirol was all time, first tracks on LBS and Wombat and in Boggy Creek's various runs (that was good). Just so good. Today was serious pow. Tomorrow will be serious fun.

Snowed all day at perisher, particularly hard after 1pm. Hard to guage the depth as windblown in some spots and scoured in others. However, I think 15-20cm today, and 35cm or so since 10am yesterday.

I am pretty sure thatt X5 was stuck on the OPPOSITE side of the road when I was coming down the hill. I suspect they have floored it, all wheels spinning, finally got some grip and shot across the road

I observed lots of that kind of thing going on:eek:

In related news there was about $100k worth of range rover resting on its side in the narrow gutter on the Buller Road this morning. Looked like no injuries but got no idea how they got the car onto its side with the roof facing towards the road (rather than facing the embankment). Must have been some kind of extra special driving.

Slide into the hill and over they go, very easy to achieve with just a little too much momentum. Performance road tyres no doubt

Just because it's a Rangy with 4WD doesn't mean that those 22in road tyres are going to serve you well in icy conditions. I know, I have one and there are things I don't do with it.

Anyone know how much snow Baw Baw has had?
Apparently they have closed the resort road due to the snow storm and incidents on the road?

suspect that is the case. Land Rover are now fitting summer tyres to all the Sports and Vogues which are lovely on the highway but hopeless elsewhere. On my last one they used to at least fit the Pirelli Scorpion all terrains which weren’t to bad. Snow Tyres now fitted for winter.

See post in baw baw trips...yep road closed 4-5 times today I heard. Snow count my feel is 20-25 at the the bottom, 30-35 maybe more at the top. It was puking down at the top of hut run/ summit for most of the afternoon.

I don't know, couldn't see it. Apparently tomorrow, but I am not sure about that. There was plenty of patches on Yurredla during the week, so hopefully they have covered over today.

Apparently there were road closures and hard getting off the mountain tonight. Or maybe that was just the story we were spun by a guest wanting an extra last minute extension to their stay. Could do worse than be stuck on the hill and forced to go skiing in the morning...

Still snowing there (apparently), with temps dropping on the AWS. Classic Baw Baw. Probably end up with half a metre by tomorrow AM.

Looking at the radar it shouldn't be an issue.
