It's bark appears worse than it's bite.

I believe @Claude Cat is the only one who can put observations on a thread IIRC.

Thredbo and Perisher snow cams show a dusting, above 1500m, perhaps 2-3cm depth on Basin Cam.

Observed this near Betts Creek this morning.... It was headed towards the Southern End of Mt P in the snow fall till it saw the car and took off in the direction that it came. Gives a different view of the overnight snow.

Increasingly seeing deer in and around the higher elevations this past year. Noted one strolling mid morning across Smiggin Holes a few weeks back.

Today’s snowfall did not seem to be bothering it?

I was in the area around Paddy Rushs Bogong, Brindle Bull and Drift Hill, and also the Charcoal Range around 5 times this summer and saw a minimum of two deer per trip. They aren't even bothered by humans which is troubling...

I noticed this last December up at Perisher as well. I haven't seen them before this year. Hard-hooved, suited to the area - not good. Will dwarf the brumby problem, if it doesn't already, within a few years.
