the damp overture is on it's way
Radar is legit.
No doubt about it.
512 composite ADL radar looks like maybe some interference but looks LARGE ATM.
Actually, now I can see why there was interference... There was an ocean falling from the sky. 20mm in 30 mins.
there will be Adelaidians wondering if they are in Singapore.
Is that some lake effect im seeing across Bass Strait that's smashing into NW Tas? Certainly looks like it.
come on Ullr!!!
Looks more like the limit of radar sensitivity/lack of tilt to me.
Light showers and howling wind already at Buller
Rained all night in Creswick (between Ballarat and Daylesford).
Still raining now, very dark skies, nice solid stuff
Radar shows the heavy rain closing in on Melbourne
heavy rain and very warm in Albury - heading to the hills according to radar
Very wet and warm at mountain creek...warm and mostly dry in my swag tho!
ADL weather now from the south. 10.8C overnight reached at 7am this morning.
Strong winds and non stop rain since 5am this morning at Falls....at least that's from when I woke and first heard it. Not sure if lifts will be running and I'm in no rush to find out.
Rain not pouring at Buller, wind at 60kph, gusts up to 100kph last night, mountain closed, no lifts running at scheduled open
Thanks for the updates from Buller @HittingTheCliff
Here in Melbourne, it is dry... so far.
Not sure what part of Melb your in but it has been raining pretty steady for the past half hour here in Cheltenham
Wet in Prahran too.
Yesterday was my first day walking to work for spring, think I might drive today!
Really quite light rain here in Melbourne; lots of rainshadow and it's passing mostly to the west.
It's been quite dry in Box Hill
On the ride in (east to west), it was just spitting until Cremorne, and then just light rain through to St Kilda rd.
Appears to have cleared momentarily. Very warm.
Looking like NSW might miss a bit of the really wet stuff.
Is that colder air with a front through Adelaide now?
Raining in Box Hill now
Only light showers so far in Melbourne's north.
Western Victoria has done well till 9 am with many spots getting 30 - 50mm.
Trentham posting 32mm today already at 9.8 degrees at 700m asl, the barometer is a little higher than I expected reading 1007.9hpa,
Warm in jindy only a few spots of rain so far.
FL for MEL circa 2400m, ADL FL circa 1800m @9am this morning
Give it 8-10 hours before a chance of seeing a wintery mix on the highest peaks IMO
Still pouring it down at Falls. Summit and gully chairs are open but noticed the app hasn't updated the info yet.
Not enough to register in Hallam, still very warm. Was 22c when I went to work at 3.00 am
looks like the next band of rain just about to hit Melbourne.
On and off light rain this morning in Thredbo, valley floor to top.
Now proper drizzle.
looks to have a bit of juice in the center of it also
Been in Perisher front Valley all morning, no rain to speak of bit of drizzle occasionally. Rain at Blue cow this am though
Best part of 10mm in Dubbo. Stopped for the last hour but satellite makes it look like we've only had the entree so far.
Looks like snow from Meadows up on the Thredbo cams. Maybe even village... Definitely on the High Noon cam. Or am I seeing things... Temps don't 'say' snow...
Where is rain?
20-30mm observed in some West Vic stations over the last 12-14 hours... Where are you?
70mm+ in some areas of Western VIC.
Falls BOM only saying 4mm
Flooding in Coleraine (NW of Warnambool)
Light rain at Perisher on and off this afternoon. Lots more grassy patches since yesterday.
Still 6 degrees, only 1mm in the gauge.
probably good those dudes from Silvan went on a road trip last week say Team Bears!!!!
Raining and 15deg in Canberra
The 6deg is doing a lot more damage than the rain.
30mm+ in Buller since last night. Some fanatics spent the morning lapping Bourke St hiking up by foot. Official day of wind hold.
Chairs on Blue Bullet have just had their seats flipped up and detached for storage. The optimist would say there's an expectation of snow, the pessimist says is game over for this season.
rain radar is very colourful over NE/Vic Alps...
hope Thomas has reached Bivouc Hut as it must be hosing down up there.....must be a track of waterfalls....
severe weather warning out for a big chunk of Central and NE Vic issued approx 4pm..cumulative upper totals expected to reach 100mm for alps by Saturday morning when this event concludes...
snow road and Ovens Valley Highway could be interesting if this event plays out in full..we may need Highway Access Thread soon....NE is totally saturated Ovens,King &Kiewa have been close to minor flood levels for last month.....///
