Still blowing a gale in Hallam. Vegie garden is not happy.
Has been a long time since I learnt to ski at Dingo Dell. Had a poma lift back then. Best it's looked for years.
Just beautiful today.
Lunch was outside.
High cloud and warm temps.
Sat pic looks brutal.
Looks like a NWer you get in Christchurch.
They ended up shuting all B C except Ridge . Need a couple extra tears over there. Wish I knew Ridge was staying open , it was great today ..
Today was rest day at Gotham City - howling wind / warmed up to zero / wind still out there - legs needed recovery time from four days of the most awesome conditions Oz can offer - prep for 2mo's new snow is now complete via a sleep in, beers and chilling - all good - here are some shots of how Gotham is looking today. We likey this mountain !
T-shirt weather in Bright
Did a day trip to Buller today.
Windy, everything on hold except Northside, Bullet and The double at the bottom of the Southside.
Snow was crusty, then became soft with the warm winds. Was actually nice to ski once it did soften.
Just lapped Northside for 4-5 hours then called it a day. Solo mission so got a lot of runs in with no break. Legs were feeling it by then end.
Good coverage all round, this weeks snow will really solidify what’s there.
Few crappy iPhone pics for your visual excitement.
Windy with plenty of wind hold today at Thredbo but Antons was running and the windblown was very good. Queues were fine given the difficult access (Gunbarrel and Snow Gums were a different story). A surprisingly good day
Plenty of laps. Very tired. Good day one for 2018
Said his tent had done blizzard conditions. As long as we're in the right spot with some break sheltershe should be ok
Gusting 50-60km/hr winds at Diggings camp now. Picked up a lot in the last hour. Gonna be a long night.
Nothing crappy about those photos
we drove up late 9.30amish and saw the queue for gunbarrel which was insane and decided to spend our $270 for day passes on sausage rolls and beers instead
It was the worst I had ever seen it. We made the mistake of coming down High Noon once and didn’t do that again
The front has hit here in Adelaide. Feels really cold outside and apparently a chance of snow on Mount Lofty.
Windhold at Buller..... gotta earn those turns. And those turns were pretty good.
But yes, it was windy.
We are down the bottom. Definitely blowing now.
Wow, been gusting constantly greater than 100 kph at Thredbo top station for the past 11 hours!
Yeah, I am up top. Watching wind vortices take cinders from the neighbour’s fire... wish I had an anemometer. Some gusts nudging 70kms IMO, thank Christ we’re not dealing with spindrift too, I guess.
And bloody cold and wet in Adelaide. One of those days where the cold weather got here at the same time as the NW moisture. Has all the right feel to it already.....
According to Buller’s insta Fannys, and hikes beyond Summit chair we off limits due to Avi danger. Unique conditions up there ATM.
They’re mostly my tracks, I hiked that sucker all day!
I'm a bloke. I dont get those.
Yep, mentioned that in the Buller thread. Not gonna get any better tomorrow.
Hopefully this rain band can lay over the alps as long as it’s hung over s.a and south west vic today!! (Not in a hurry to move this one)In for a treat of a snow fall if it can imo
Why the unexplicable mood swings then?
Not that either.
Animation on that blob has it heading south east from West coast toward Tassie and missing Melb
yr.no says about 6AM till first falls
We set off small slab releases in the trees near powder keg on Tuesday morning after Buller’s first 20 cents that didn’t bond well. Needless to say mum’s nerves were shot when she heard the word ‘avi’ danger on the news, not often you get in bounds risk like this week IMO
....calm and breezy together in Essendon, moistness close, I can smell it!
