Nah all over for Jindy I reckon
Got back to DP an hour ago. Was mega fat wet base building flakes above 1500 until 15 mins ago when it turned to rain
This afternoon was the most fun I've had with or without my pants on. Drove to McNamaras hut (3rd oldest in high country and absolutely stunning location - good base camp in winter) Dumping snow from 230-5pm. Was amazing to see snow from omeo to anglers rest - everywhere all the way to the valley floor.
10c of porridge above 1800 m is best outcome. the machines are still on - though maybe off soon.
Melb is 14c but Hobart is 10c so the warm is rotating on the inner edge of the main low rotation with the cold on the outer edge.
Basically, inner edge and warm is heading to Jindy and Thredbo BUT its still below 15c at sea level so good for snow above 1500m.
I was hoping the outter edge cold would wrap back in tonight but it looks like early tomorrow morning.
In the great tradition of Billy B: We need the low to head north and to head north fast....
Moisture has hit in Jindy and temp back to 5c.
Some of the love Omeo received today from insta:
I've only ever been twice, lovely little goldrush town.
Is that snow or rain hitting cedarwood at the mo? The snow on table looks a bit pot marked.
100 click gust at Buller
30cents with a good 8 hour freeze... you could groom the home trails and get a solid 2 days of skiing.... 11th of May, it needs another 30cents to be viable.
1 degree and snowing moderately in Thredbo village. Snow settling in the grass.
Ok. Snowing heavily in Thredbo village.
Wind coming from over my left shoulder as I look at the hill.
Showers pushing straight up the NSW coast. Incoming for the Gong.... the beast has turned North
Dopple gives a better idea of mass heading north.
I observe Omeo (700m ASL) is still ticking over on moisture. It's bagged 42mm since 9am and only reached 4.2c as a max.
Moscow Villa hut must have a coupla feet on it today, I am thinking.
Sth Perisher delivering the goods
Still snowing on the live Merritt's Cam too (@1660m, whilst Top Station @1950m is only -1.1).
Well that was nice while it lasted.
Chucking it down on Sou Peri cam.
Well this just happened.
One could expect snow on the summit rain at Snake Gully perhaps?
Or perhaps it was all rain, given it's the first registered millage since 9am (above 0C),
30 degrees and sunny in Perth today and tomorrow
Looks wet, something is better then nothing though.
Just read that the wind is blowing 115km/h at Mt Hotham with 132km/h gusts.
Just arrived home to find 61mm recorded, upper yarra...nice drop
Still coming down white and heavy on Merritts live. Thredbo should have some good numbers by the morning.
Temps seem to be flattening out. Uppers must be ok. Rain and wind in Jindy @ 7c. Snowing above 1700m for now in NSW
Was perfect weather for laps of the skate park, good for getting the legs ready for the white stuff☺
stop being such a bloody glass half full
Very windy in Jindy
Driving rain too. It’s a beautiful night
Windspeed at hotham 119, gusts of 137 km/h @ 4am!!!
Pretty much all gone now as the rain settled in. Winter access to Charlie Mac's hut is not possible. Gate will be locked. Head up that way in winter and you will have the McCoy's after you. I think they have already eliminated the Hatfield's.
At least the road will be open to Perisher.
I observe rising temps and moisture.
I observe a lot of people will be disappointed this morning.
Lot of moisture on the cams (even at the top of Thredbo).
Still a net gain overnight for Thredbo and Perisher.
These systems are often marginal once they wrap around.
Taken position waiting for swell to pick up.
A lot of dark clouds out there.
I wish my swell could pick up to the level your swell is now. I have nice clouds too at least...
Care factor not high on that point!
Rain on Sou Peri Cam.
Looked wet when I checked at 5:30.
Just a snow fall in May , already half melted/washed away ...
Very windy and kind of mild in Queanbeyan, bit of a fizzer relative to the hype IMO.
Wet stuff arrived on the Sth Coast early hrs.
Been steady since , increasing now.
Surprising the lack of wind only 10 to 15 kt's.
See how we go as this one continues out over the warm water.
Plenny a hype south of the Border.
Just had a thunder rumble here in Bondi
Just got blasted 40 kt gust .
More what we anticipated.
Fire lit ......
