Hello, I'm NSW based and am looking at booking a week at Falls late July. I'm trying to find accommodation offering refunds or credits should state borders close and we cannot attend as planned. So far one provider has advised that they would offer refunds if Falls closes due to a lock down, but not if interstate guests cannot attend due to border closures. Has anyone looking to travel from outside of Victoria this winter had any luck?
I had a very positive experience with the Falls Creek Country Club last year, and their covid policy is pretty clear (you would get your money back or rebook to different dates). I think is pretty standard for most of the larger providers, but best to check and see it in writing! https://fallscreekcountryclub.com.au/ Covid policy: https://fallscreekcountryclub.com.a...oronavirus-Cancellation-Policy-Update-6.1.pdf (Obviously not interstate, but impacted last year by resort closure and being unable to get beyond 5km of home....)
It could be that some properties will have tighter policies this year than last. I really hope not, but they have been doing it very tough and hearing that many other tourist destinations are not being as generous with cancellation policies. Just check policies before you book and don't assume that it will be same as last year
We had a great experience with Frueauf Village last year due the QLD border opening and closing. But they were booked out for our dates this year, and seem to be really busy for this season!
Thanks for the insights, we went with Fall Creek Country Club in the end. They have a clear policy which allows for refunds in the event of lockdowns or border closures.
