    Hello,

We are considering a trip for a week in August, there will likely be 4 or 5 of us. Can anyone recommend or know of any great deals for accommodation? We're after preferably a budget apartment or house, transportation won't be a problem because we'll have a car.

    Thanks

Is there such a thing as budget accommodation at Perisher?

Berridale might be worth a look if Jindy doesn't turn up the goods.

There's plenty of websites out there that specialize in the Snowy Mountain area plus ones like Stayz and Wotif etc to choose from.
Some may?? have specials going on.
They also have search functions, A-Z and cheapest to most expensive and vice versa.

Super budget? Take a tent and go to Island Bend campsite. It's free and oh so much fun :)

Ski Rider Hotel Motel seems to be quite cheap.

For the past few year frds & i have been going to Thredbo. But kicking off this season, we decided to give perisher a go and found ski rider hotel motel was the only choice available closer to the snow and offer minimum 1 night accommodation!!

Try "Sponnars Chalet" Its between Smiggins and Ski rider, on the road to Perisher, it has some large rooms. You may still get good deals on snow at Perisher, in the Corroboree, Matterhorn or Peer Gynt.

We did our first ever snow trip last year and we opted to stay in Jindabyne rather than on the snow. After a 3 hour flight from FNQ and a 6 hour drive in a hire car cost certainly comes into it. We stayed at the Discovery Holiday Park and it was great. The cabin we had was clean with all bed linen supplied and could sleep up to 6 people. If there aren't too many caravans and motor homes there you get a great view of the lake as well. The only down side was management recommended boiling drinking water. I can only assume that because it was actually out of town or sort of that their water is drawn directly out of the lake. We were there the last week of September so prices may have been a bit cheaper than in August. Hope this help with making a decision.:)
