just bin outside getting a few pics, the one
through brighton was not bad with some
good mid air strikes as well as CGs.
but the one to the SW off edithburgh heading
for victor is a ball tearer, some huge fat ground
clamping mothers coming out of that one.
and some real hardcore strobing to go with it.

Heard the thunder, thought of you @ThÜñDå HûÑtÅ and went back to sleep.

A touch of rain that’s evaporated even out of the gauge already.

A bit of thunder & distant lightning out of this. Not enough to make anyone change what they were doing on the beach.

The lightning strikes were nice, hope you captured some @ThÜñDå HûÑtÅ .

i use weatherzone layers for a rapid australian overview,
i can go anywhere in aus and zoom down quickly to
see who's going to get smashed and by how much in pretty
much real time and weatherzone radar for up to 18 hour
rainfall and lightning animation. to get a handle on direction
and up or down intensity.and development. of cells or systems
    in general.

1mm in the Exeter gauge this morning after yesterday’s storms. Most of which came from evening drizzle as the storms decayed & cooled with Southerly air moving in.

After checking out the weather forecast for Saturday Nov 28, our next scheduled watering day at my property, we decided to go there on the Sunday just gone (Nov 22) as the forecast temp next Saturday was going to be 43C, even though Sunday's Murray Bridge forecast was to be 38C (doubt whether it reached it though). The lure of thunderstorms didn't hurt either [IMG]

When we left Glen Osmond and were heading up the SE freeway, there was a rumble overhead and it began to rain. The temp at home was 28C when we left and by the time we passed the Hahndorf exit, it had dropped to 16C, rising only to 19C on the way to Murray Bridge. Just below the summit at Crafers, the rain began to fall in earnest reducing driver's speeds as the visibility was severely reduced.

Periods of torrential rain at times with severely reduced visibility and numerous CGs followed. The was one CG which dropped a few km in front and arched overhead resulting in a second or 2 delayed whipcrack clap of thunder which followed.

The storm appeared to run in the general direction of the freeway and I think eventually we emerged out of it somewhere near Callington although it still rained off and on between there and MB. There was another storm ahead of us (prob past Tailem Bend) which was also throwing out some nice CG's.

When we arrived at the property, the temp had risen to ca 28-30C. There were deep loud booms emanating to the south from the first storm we had driven through as it passed Murray Bridge. The sky was relatively dark to our S-SW and CGs dropped occasionally from the MB storm.

After watering for about 3o mins, I looked up at the sky just in time to see a crawler connecting various clouds followed by a reasonably loud clap of thunder. I crouched down, but no further lightning or thunder was experienced save for a few rumble from a storm to the north of Mannum somewhere, so I continued my watering.

At about 3pm, we left the property and headed along the Murray River past Bowhill - Walkers Flat - Nildottie - Swan Reach - Blanchetown to Morgan experiencing some heavy showers at times. Stopped at a few lookouts along the way and saw some decent rainshafts to our W & NW with an occasional rumble emanating from them. While we were on the ferry in Morgan, my partner spotted a couple of CGs ahead of us.

We headed out on the Morgan Renmark road for about 5km where we stopped by the roadside and kept an eye on 2 rainshafts to our SE & W. With no further sparks and after consulting with Lennie (Thunderstruck), we headed for Eudunda stopping for a pi(t)stop. A rumble emanated from a darkish cloud to the north, but as any lightning was very infrequent, we decided to head for home.

While on the N-S Motorway at Wingfield, a beautiful rainbow presented itself to our east. To top it off, the sky had a nice range of colours around sunset to end the day.

Whilst not a lot of lightning or cloud structure was seen after we left my property, it was still an enjoyable day's chase with the highlight of course being the drive up the freeway on the way up. Have to check the dashcam footage to see if anything of note was recorded.

Hope you enjoy reading this report. Apologies for the length.

Btw, recorded 0.4mm Sunday morn and 4.9mm Monday morn from the weekend's efforts.

    Cheers.

a real roaster, down here heat was not early.
took a while to crank up peaking around 23:30
and dropping like a lead brick to 32 as the sea
breeze slammed through, crept back up to 35 now.

    certainly was, around 14-15,000'
some good rains to come out of the change tomorrow,
mostly off the coast in the ocean although KI and the LSE
look to do pretty well from it.

things happening pretty much according to models at the moment
the southerly wind swing down here came early this morning but
the temp still rose to 30+°... now starting to drop.
still waiting for my meager ration of precipitation.
for your interest skifree the LCL (lifted condensation level)
aka. cloudbase currently for today is around 9000' however...
forecast sounding also shows levels of cloud at around
    16000' and 25000'
if you get out there now you should be able to see them all.

3.4mm here for me, not so much drizzle as light rain - large drops.
the next smattering of interest on the books is tuesday,
a little more generous meager ration than the last lot.
still we dont want to be wishing for too much i suppose what
with being in the middle of crop harvest and all.
3-8mm will be good for gardens whilst delaying harvest
    without damging crops.

    Snap! Also 3.5mm this morning.

November total ended up being 16.9mm at home with YTD 420.3mm. Spring Rainfall = 121.6mm.

As a comparison, Adelaide Airport had 10.2mm for Nov with YTD 352.8mm. Spring rainfall was 92.3mm.

How did you fare Skifree & Thunda Hunta for the corresponding period (& anybody else who would like to post their rainfall summaries)?

Ground hog weather range bound for another while. The 25 to 33 c range seems to me another two weeks mostly dry good for harvesting. Few storms possible in the east Saturday late arvo perhaps. Looks tame

great to see... er... read you FW,.....WELCOME.
yer weather certainly on the level for the moment.
almost what one could call doldrums.
as far as storms go we've had the usual s.a. signature
high based electrical dryees which have been great,
just waiting for those feral tropical low based HP

1 & 1/2 mls n the Exeter gauge this morning to top out the rain event.

Event seems a bit of an overkill for such a small fall over 48 hours.
