Hi everybody, im organising a fairly large group to go up to Falls Creek for a weekend of skiing and am looking for some affordable self catering accommodation. There will probably be between 10-15 of us and am hoping to find something that has a spa..

    Any ideas?

    Cheers

Phantom, (Mountain Multiservice) has a number of large apartments for rent and I suspect they may have spas. Take a look on his website. http://www.mountainmultiservice.com.au

Depending on your funds the Country Club has 2 level mezzanine self-contained 3 bedroom flats (like we are staying in this year), which have large lounge rooms too. You could easily sleep up to 10 people in those, and they are quite luxurious. The Country Club has an excellent pool, spa and sauna too. It is definitely not the cheapest place, but split between 10 people is not too bad.

Alpine View Apartments have 12 bed apartments, that can be used to sleep more. Up in the heart of the bowl, ski in/ski out of Eagle lift. Bathrooms have spas; There's a communal sauna down below.

If you want best value self-catering then you will find it at Mount Beauty. There is a 40 min drive on Saturday and Sunday mornings but you will save about an hour and a half on Friday night skipping the parking and oversnow issues. Depends on what is important for your group.
A three bedroom house comfortable for 10 for the weekend will work out at about $20 per night per person.
    Here is an example http://www.kiewaview.com.au

I stayed there 10 years ago. It was a chilly house then but it has split systems and some double glazing now so it would be pretty comfortable.

    The web page says
"Sofa/Divan converts to a double bed to accommodate four couples." That would be 4 rather friendly couples LOL .

$630 for 2 night weekend in July and August so $30 pp per night for 10 pax. Could get on mt for $50pp per night but sacing the hassle of the Friday night arrival up top could be well worth the morning commute. And if the alpine weather is really shite on one day you can stay down in Mt Beauty.
