Annual Aldi Ski gear sale confirmed for Sat May 19th 2018.
My neighbour works for Aldi. Asked her if she was working the 19th!!
Staff haven’t even been told the date of the sale yet.
She wanted to know how I knew
getting cosy with aldi middle management?
Somebody must be!
I saw that info somewhere a few weeks ago, didn't I?
Already?? Feels too soon
No it doesn't.
There is a competition on facebook. Like and tag friends or something like that. Prize includes accommodation at the station.
I'm not sure what i'll buy this year . The best buy last season was the merino mid layers .
Not sure. Where did u see it.
I've reached the point that I have throw stuff out to make way for new stuff, even socks
I'll probably have a look that afternoon, long after the crowds are gone. The local always has heaps of stuff left, I have no time for silly queues.
same, got some for little miss......if I could buy for all of us I would. Needless to say she has outgrown it now. I will be in after the crowds go and have a look see.
These are the business- On the right.
The same models for two different things!!!
Umm yeah , cheaper like that
But are they soft or scratchy??
I might have to get some pants for my belly!!
I got a jacket in the states.
mrs donza has the trackies
rates very highly
Interracial relationships are so European.
Track pants are super warm and not scratchy.
The hoodie is almost identical to the ice breaker one for about 25% the price
Have you got a confirmed date for this years sale?
19th was what my sauce said.
Might have to lash out this year and get the Inoc ski pants
Why the title change?
A wednesday ski sale?
Always been saturday hasn't it?
It's on page 13 of the current catalogue advertising the snow gear sale for Sat 19th May.
Biggest day of the Aldi year
I was trolling the girls n guys about it today
I do not need anything, I do not need anything, etc, etc. No, really, I have enough outdoor gear to last me a lifetime after buying some Mountain Design gear at their closing down sale.
Said no one on this site ever
I, for one am very excited about the Aldi snow sale. I want to get a couple of sets of the merino thermals, as I got the synthetic ones last year and I find that they get rather smelly after a day of skiing. I also want to get some merino socks. Also, the kids are going to need new pairs of snow boots.
Can anyone comment on what the Aldi gear (jacket/pants) is like? I've always just hired by snow gear and while I've never had a problem with the quality of it I'm planning on going to Japan next year so thought now might be the time to get some of my own gear.
Normally I just spend 5-7 days a year at Perisher and if anything, not having to include a jacket/pants in my luggage flying down from Brisbane may even be more convenient.
Merino tee shirts . So much better than thermals.
I was really happy with the quality. If anything, I was a tad warm in NZ. I usually had the pit zips open for the day by about 10:30am. Neither of my children complained about being cold, either. My only issue is that every second person on the snow is wearing the same gear, so spotting other members of your party gets tricky. That may not be as big of an issue in Japan though.
I have several compressable packing bags that I put all the snow gear into so it doesn’t take up as much room in our luggage. They are the type that have a lock seal at the top and a one way valve at the bottom. I just pack, seal and roll to get out the excess air. Packing bags are also handy for the return trip as you can pack dirty stuff separately to clean stuff.
Yeah, I’ve wondered about that. I really need leggings as well though. I need to have something between my skin and the lining of my ski pants.
You got both?
I wear skins in Australia.
Overseas I wear proper thermals
Yeah. Not a huge fan of wool myself, had a try, gave them to somebody else. I literally used to wear Aldi ski thermals to bed (I am skin and bones). All my Aldi thermals at Buller, gonna buy some more thermals from the scraps/returns left. So cosy.
Skins? Like the merino thingos
Am wool . At heart.
I prefer wool on my top half where ever possible.
I had a icebreaker tee.
Cost 120 clams. Navy blue. Medium .
Lasted years. But it was feral. Pilled and balled. It died a few years back.
Replaced with a large merino tee
25 clams from Aldi. Mint.
Nah skins are compression tights.
fair, I just don't like wool though. Thermals aren't a bad deal. I don't care about pilling though with my (limited) wool selection.
Like the things runners wear in the mornings?
Yeah runners. Footy players etc
Sometimes it's great quality and other times it reflects the price. I still have some Aldi stuff from many years ago, whilst others get a few outings and then get filed (I generally ski between 30 and 60 days each year). Last year for example, the ski pants (purchased 2016) were sweaty which is bad in cold weather so poor breathability, nor did not repel water as they should have. I first lifts after a decent dump last year when thick ice was not cleaned off the chairs on interceptor (Perisher) and by the time I got to the top my legs were screaming in pain. My body heat melted the ice and the water soaked into the pants. Wet legs on ice at minus 5 - not good. The pants were still wet by lunchtime, so home I went and filed those pants. Aldi gear is still sensational value if you don't ski for long.
are they selling chains this year?
I lived in the polar fleece jumper last year
Try to get 3/4 length ones so you don’t have excess length to deal with.
