In the remote event that anyone is still looking for Aldi gear (assuming anyone has survived the thought of Gareth wandering the shops with his wood ) ...

Cooma was very low on stock. A fair few kids' jackets, some adults' jackets, but very little else.

Young bloke and also my good mate both use their cheaper ski pants and reckon they're great. Not happy about the gloves as I got a pair for myself also. Ah well. Serves myself right for being a tight arse.

Down to the last set of 4WD chains (265) locally.
Walked out with an office chair (at $40 down from $99).

    Recommend the Goat Soap :)
Makes you clean and Brings out the animal within you. Heaps of good stuff in it. Macadamia oil and goat milk together is a sweet combo. Lathered myself right up this morning.

So this pops up in the Aldi special buys for this Saturday:

    $99.

A few days ago this was available from Bunnings for $139:

Once they'd seen the Aldi catalogue the price dropped to $98.90. Interesting thing competition! I wonder how long the low price will last...

For those interested, saw a claim that the Aldi drillpress comes from this range. Perhaps a discontinued model? Specs look in between this and this.

Certainly not "trade quality" given the price but maybe of use for a home handyman workshop? Dunno.

Loved the Irish Ballad. Classic, I spent 8 months in Ireland back in 95, went to the pub every night.
Those drills would be handy for putting old bindings onto new skis. I've done that a few times with handheld drills, which still works fine as well.

I think sat week is motorbike specials incl merino mid layers. The socks could also be okay for snowsports although I prefer the thin wool ones which are not listed this time

Fwiw the Einhell brand (who it seems are the source of Aldi's tools) doesn't seem to get a real lot of love around the interwebs. You get what you pay for...

I bought one of their chainsaws a number of years ago (Garden Line), first one was DOA so I took it back and they replaced it no questions asked. With the second one the throttle trigger broke on about the 5th outing, as it was longer than 30 days since I purchased it I had to contact the manufacture (Einhell), They were very helpful, advised it wasn't a serviceable part (Riveted in place) so they sent me a new saw. I got to keep the old one which I could have used as parts if I needed to. New saw worked pretty well considering the price. Still works but I don't use it as I upgraded to a Husky.

My local one in Manly didn't have them, it's quite a small store on the wharf. I'll try the large one in Brookvale.
I did end up some awesome trail-mix with white chocolate and cranberries in it. Preservative free. The kids and myself distroyed the large pack in less than 24hours. After doing km's in the cold water of Manly Dam it was the perfect thing to munch on.

I didn't need any ski gear this season but thought I would grab the glove liners and balaclava from Aldi at the ski sale earlier in May.
For $9/$10 bucks, they were great.
Also had the googles from last year that I used on a couple of sunny days last week (for the first time).....excellent as well and from memory were only about $30.

We bought the snowboard racks a few seasons ago. $60 and still going strong. Haven't flown off the roof yet.
