Saw these at Aldi. Absolutely no need for one, but I just want one. For some twisted reason, I reckon a few hundred people carrying these into a protest rally would have quite the impact! Black overalls, black helmets, ski googles, ear-muffs, face masks and these beauties. HaHa! Or, you could just blow leaves in your back yard.

I went to Aldi this morning for home office specials, specifically a $100 office chair.
About 50 people ahead of me in the queue 10 minutes before the doors opened.
There were only five chairs in stock so no hope of buying one.
There was a fight over them because one couple had two.
    Sadly no fisticuffs.

I've got a feeling that there will be a "mini snow sale" at the end of June or beginning of July.

No proof, no inside knowledge, just a gut feeling.

Probably, socks, gloves, beanies, thermals etc. Not big jackets and pants.

There are a couple of similar themes. From memory they include motorcycle base layers, and hiking/outdoor sports which include variants of base layers, socks, gloves

Helmets / gloves / socks and goggles would do well. All the stuff that is either harder or impossible to hire.

Normally this stuff is procured 6 months in advance unless they had cancellation/ force majeure rights so a delayed sale is possible

Snowbuck and I were in the queue on Saturday morning for a rowing machine. It wasn't as long as the ski Saturday queue but still gave a little adrenaline rush! Snowbuck shimmying through the people was a thing of athletic beauty. Everyone was very good natured with lots of help loading up the heavy stuff. Got some of their fitness gear to try out too.
I miss the ski Saturday scrum!

True, but they also cancelled the last sale only 5 weeks out, so there could have a) been stuff in transit b) stock still available from OS supplier ready to go.

    Im just being the optimist.

.... actually, being the cheapskate i am, im really after socks and gloves. :D

Our Aldi currently has kids ski socks and kids/youth helmets. There were a few adult sizes helmets last week too. Didn't spot them this week though.

No gloves, goggles, outerwear or thermals though.

That's what they told the shoppers. Being that Aldi are privately held, and keep info tight to their chests, who knows what actually happened. Could have already made the decision, could have been manufacturing or shipping issues

They also filled some of their cancellations with a variety of products they didn't advertise so could see just about anything out there

At Cooma we are not getting half the stuff advertised on their website on the sale dates. Some stuff is turning up a few days later but not all of it. Frustrating when you explicitly want something that does not arrive.

The same in Salamander Bay. Very slim centre aisle pickings.

Cooma is normally cleared somewhat for the 3 month supply of unwanted ski gear from all over the country - wait, they aren't having that sale; oops, somebody better adjust those order levels for the 'normal' weekly specials? This year is different. Seems to me they haven't adjusted their supply model?

mmm I have never noticed them just not having lots of the stuff in the special buys. But maybe I was not actually looking for them at this time of year.

    Not Aldi, but eBay.

This arrived in my inbox this morning which I thought was quite funny. AI has got a lot to learn.

My wife went to Aldi last Saturday afternoon to get me a couple of the merino T-shirts. She got there around 2ish. All sold out except 2xl. So no T-shirts for me.

Aldi packs are very good value. I’ve used their 65L pack on multiple trips( including on snow )and it’s still good to go. Great value for the $60 I paid.
I grabbed a 45 L the other day for $35. Heaps of features including side carry for skis.

I arrived at my Aldi on Saturday morning to find a queue around the corner! I didn't bother lining up, went back later in the day and there was nothing left but the down jackets.
