Baw Baw skis better on less cover. Stirling needs 30 cms across the whole hill to cover all the rocks and lumpy hazards.
Baw Baw is my choice... the choice of November skiers of note ;-P .See you there at 0830 Tuesday at the main car park.

Thought you were camping out tonight for early start. But maybe a sensible revision of plan. Snow cover looks good. See you out there. Might come across the anaesthetist? Last time at bb I skied with an engineer who showed me his avalanche photos from NZ. BB attracts an interesting crew.
I am at East Tyers Campground having camped out for the night in the Baw Baw N.P..I am waiting for @beefaskiing to appear
.See you up there.
I will see if I am required to fit chains to my all wheel drive car.

Down to as low as 0.2° C earlier this morning. Yesterday maxed at 7.2° C, and the day before at 7.5° C; precipitation for the event (11–15 Nov) totalled 142.6 mm, bringing my monthly and yearly totals up to 206.2 mm and 1,786.3 mm respectively.
wow thats a lot of annual precip , whats your average?

Likely to be in the order of 1,300–1,400 mm. I'm basing this off the Bago (Pilot Hill) site in operation from 1910–1951; and Cabramurra SMHEA from 1955–1999 (the site that actually had a functioning rain gauge) averaged 1,700 mm.

Hunters Hill in VIC averages 1,190 mm for 1993–2020, although that Tallangatta Valley region is generally drier than on the immediate slopes of the GDR.

That snow today skied as well as any late November snow I’ve skied. It’s difficult to ascertain how much fell and depths varied. Lots of fresh snow for sure as others have reported but those winds blew it all over the place….leeward was your friend.

Still, so many social media reports of great main range conditions. A few of us found good lines to be had and we’re all equally impressed with late November snow.

Lucky country indeed :)….just a couple of location pics as opposed to ski shots. Shows some of the less covered spots.
