So it looks like my current sticks are cactus.

Need a pair of resort planks.

    Sub-90mm definitely.

Not too keen on pure carve skis but do love improving my turns in this area.

Have paid of Laser SC (old 63mm version) with plates that just needs bindings you can have for a reasonable offer. Excellent nick, basically only worn in anger (i.e. for gate bashing)

Any comments on the stiffness/dampness of the range?

    Tee hee.

Not overly stiff, all quite damp. 4 days on my Orbs now, powerful and smooth

"100-day satisfaction guarantee. Try them for 100 days, return them for a full refund if you don’t love them. That’s a premium offer...essentially a risk-free purchase direct from the builder. If you love carving skis, and want a premium ride in a wide spectrum of turn shapes and speeds, the Z-Line 77 delivers a surprisingly impressive solution with an eerie smoothness as you go faster or find harder surfaces. Nice work Cyrus. Definitely see what all the buzz is about and demo the Renouns if you can. You might like what you feel."

Anyone had any experience with Fisher XTR PRO MTN 80? Seems a pretty good deal on Level 9 at the moment - $249 US.

Great if you are 5'2" or 5'4" or @Astro66 :p. The only size available is 159cm. Appears to be a rental package.

170 IMO, unless you like short turns a lot.

You know I'm going to suggest the Blizzard Brahma. 88mm underfoot. Stiff but not crazily so. Moderate turn radius.

    Also, the Volkl Kendo?

At 67kg, the Brahma CA would probably be a better option for him.

First thing to do is decide what colour you need, this may effect choice.

Can't comment on the others but the Cassiar 85 in the new Alchemist construction is light, lively and silky smooth on the piste.

They hold an edge like nobodies business, like being on rails. The dampening we've done to these skis has increased their on piste performance to the max.

    Nowhere!!
I managed a repair to get me through a few weeks, and reviewing my budgets I need to wait until my house sells. So maybe end of season or next.

I did think maybe an all-mountain (black crows orb?), and then grab a second hand pair of skis for early morning groomer carver things.

Lots of good sticks out there.
