My non skiing wife wants to come along for the trip but will get bored with spending the day hanging around down the bottom. Does anyone know if there is any cheaper way non skiers can use the lifts to access restaurants like Eagles nest if they aren’t skiing? Or is a regular lift pass the only way?

You can get a tourist (single ride) ticket on the Kosciuszko chair, and maybe then Merrits chair as well.

They say a single ride. How do they expect non skiers to get back down? I hope they mean an up and back ride?

Don’t just get a single ticket ......hire some snow shoes and use the whole day to go up and down across and over and walk walk walk ....oh get some poles as well as that helps. You get to truly appreciate the beauty of the area by walking it and not just zinging down the slopes.
I highly recommend that form of exploration !

I hadn’t thought of that, but good idea. At least she can get out a bit and sit with us where everyone gathers before heading down the slopes.

Should be all good as long as she stays off the groomers, I wouldn’t want to be taken out while on snow shoes.

Have a little practice before heading off, and make sure they’re not going to slip off. Test out whether there are risers for the uphill or not and how to put them up and down. Then just enjoy the walk. It’s a beautiful way to see the mountain as @cruisin along says.

no they skiddo you over to the top of the supertrail, lie you down on your side, give you a push and you just roll back down to the bottom.

Yes great idea but there is Policy in place this year.

    Quoting....
Uphill access is only permitted outside of public operating hours – From 5.00pm to 8.30am. All uphill users must be clear of the ski area by 8.00am

    Except ...

I’ve come across foot traffic in the trees below black sallees in the past, and there are trails that you can follow that are off piste - not sure how accessible it is in Winter Season, I’ve only done it in Spring.

We will be in Perisher for 2-3 days and Thredbo for 2 days so she will get to see a bit, but I don't think she will be into any tours, just a look around while I'm boarding, and lunch with me for her face book photos. The Eagles nest is looking like a definite.
