Plenty on the ground so....why not!
The Tasman's working some magic offshore. It's a shame it's taking on warm air.
Perisher now in +0C territory @ 1730m as of 9:30am
Yeah, it will be short lived. Probably all melted by the end of the day at this rate!
These events are always great for the resort marketing teams, gets people thinking about planning their winter trips
MEL T-Skew @9am this morning says FL ~1900m with a weak inversion above that.
Only -15C @ 500mb. All over red rover for snow, but plenny of rain left in it IMO.
Not much on the Melb radar but it's still very ordinary outside with light rain now.....total cloud cover but with a lighter density if that makes sense.Moderate winds.
Barometer appears to be rising now.
Mt Hotham Airport has picked up 18mm since 9am (3 Hours). Good falls through Vic's east.
Great advertising for the forum from Huffington Post Australia.
Pretty sure that's written by @Ramshead
Some stunning shots here
Warming up here now, 7.9C (windchill 3.6C)
Miserable cold to the bone day, windy, humid, horrid (for April)
I observe views went from about 5k this morning to 6.2k this eve... nice
Oops, I forgot to write "the weather nerds in the forums..." Normally I do that but was too busy writing a Masters golf story at the same time!
I personally don't know a single person who has ever managed to read their way through an entire golf article. The world needs less golf articles and more snow articles. I observe golf sucks year round.
I always managed to play army golf .............left right left right so to me golf has always been a good walk spoilt ...
I observe I played golf this afternoon in a wind that felt like it had come from somewhere snowy after starting work early to write golf and snow articles. I observe I sucked very badly and lost 6 balls but still enjoyed myself. I also observe that most golf journalism does indeed suck although if you've never read Jason Day's letter to his 12 year old self, u probably should
haha excuse me for managing to offend all and sundry. Inspiring stuff. Thanks for the share.
I observe rain on South perisher cam tonight. Looks like a cold, bleak night ahead.
Season is over, time to start googling northern hemisphere holidays
Suns out in Melb. The barometer has recovered from its dive.
Cool and breezy. Some white cumulus clouds floating around.
Some heavy rain fell about 2am as Ubi exited Kittens establishment......
We note Perths forecast of 30deg...Melbs some ten degrees lower....
Just interviewed this bloke and wrote up the story. Sounds like a great guy. Horsham local who does a bit of photography and storm chasing on the side. Thanks @DiscoStuAU for posting.
Gotta give a fellow photog some love
Half mtr in Canterbury region of NZ
A beautiful day in NE Vic ....Sunny and still in Glenrowan temp in low..mid twenties.Beautiful blue sky.
Purely IMO, some good shots - but terrible, destructive post production. Looks like someone was up there there at a similar time (view from Halls Gap) and although drastically different framing it looks nothing like Nick's shots - except more realistic.
aaaanyway. Big totals in rainfall over the last week...
