Great, off the top lift (saddleback from memory) there is heaps of great stuff to play in.
I got the TracFone sim from Walmart for $1 and put $15 on it, which lasted the month. It uses the AT&T network.
Sorry Astro. I meant to talk about this trip report when I posted on you Tahoe report
Bloody dropbox stopped sharing my public folder. I'd love to fix the links but I'm using a new paid members account so I cannot edit the links with this account. And I really don't want to pay an additional $33 to fix them.
I noticed that many threads have been affected by dropbox's decision to stop sharing the images. So I have gone back to photobucket or direct uploading.
Richard has been kind enough to reactivate this account long enough for me to fix the links. I'll make some time next week. Going skiing this weekend, so after that.
I hate you for skiing this weekend but also looking at crazy flights as we speak!
Astro, what did you go with? Sorry in advance if it's later in the three. Your trip is very similar to our plans (minus the wedding) and though I can't get the price you did, I can get a Jeep for around AUD2000 on a one way deal. We had a Ford escape last time which was AWD, but apparently not all are. Are Jeeps always AWD?
I don't do rides. My son's first roller coaster ride at Seaworld (the one that has a loop) he was solo. I have photos, you can barely see his head above the car. I may have also sent him on the pirate ship with some randoms I'm the bag carrier at Disneyland.
Wait, you don't even go on the rides at Disneyland?
I may have done the teacups...no hands! I don't do drops or spins.
That's why Disneyland is so good. Most of the rides don't have any serious drops or spins!!
Mr Toad's Wild Ride. For reasons that escape me the daughter always insists on a ride on this. And the Teacups.
My kids like Toad, but the oldest is 10!
I don't do ANY drops, serious or not, non serious spins are ok. Scarred by an incident at the Ekka as a teenager, never recovered. Lifts were very dodgy for many years.
But, there's never any arguments about who's holding the bags And I love Disneyland regardless.
Who takes bags into Disneyland? Travel light. Travel fast. If it can't fit in a pocket, leave it behind. We do stay in the Tropicana Inn & Suites, which makes return to the room pretty straightforward.
We've stayed there and at candy cane suites just down the street. WorldMark apartments a little further away are good if you want an apartment rather than hotel room.
Desert Inn is fine too, as is Park Vue. Literally across the street from the entrance.
Have just found out that Xmas-NY is the busiest week of the year, looks like the kid misses out this trip.
Yeah mid week in January or early Feb is the best. "Quiet" season at Disneyland is shorter and busier now than ever before.
Have done late Jan twice before, plus Tokyo Disney, so I think she'll survive without
@Astro66 @Astro666 which car did you get?
Ford Escape AWD. Jeep do also comes in FWD.
Got it through Economy Car Rental. AWD was not guaranteed for the $1100. They offered me a RAV4 FWD. I had to pay $200 more when I picked up, for the AWD Ford. Best snow vehicle I've ever driven.
In Canada, AWD is not guaranteed, but have always got one when ordering a SUV, without paying extra, through the same website.
It's just what they have available when you turn up.
Thanks, Yeah we were happy with the Escape last time, Jeep looks a bit bigger?
The one in the same price bracket as the Ford is no bigger. It's the Patriot. Escape is better IMO. But the Ford is my company car. So maybe I'm biased.
You've just found this out???
Most people have known that Christmas/New Year is the the busiest week of the year since... well, probably since sometime early last century!
Um yeah sorry about that. Could have been busier in their summer break?
But the weeks after are some of the quietest.
Epic passes work then so we'll be skiing.
Astro - any chance you remember the name of that Studio w Loft ? looking to go to PC next year - and sounds like a great option for my family (2A & 2C). Cheers.
The Lodge at the Mountain Village. I booked in March for January. Prices slowly ratchet up as it gets closer to Jan.
Have a look on VRBO too.
We got a 4 bedroom executive apartment at canyons for 11 nights. About $350 per night when booked 13 months out. Watched as others we considered slowly become more expensive. Then our travel buddies had their 2 kids pull out. Tried to find a three bedroom option instead and everything was more expensive, so stayed with what we've got.
Heavenly seems to fit this bill too?
Another great hill. Had the Tahoe snowpack variability though. Epic or drought.
I'll have to make sure I don't buy a Drought Pass then
