You use a capital letter for a person or a name. As there are apparently many 'gods', to capitalise the singular but not the plural assumes there is only one, and that one bears that name.

Even the Jewish god recognises that. "Thou shalt have no other gods before me" Exodus 20:3. So he wants all the other gods to come after him.
He goes on: "Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the Lord thy god am a jealous god." Exodus 20:5. Clearly admitting he is only one of many gods, and is in fact a pretty nasty guy at that!
Then Exodus 34:14 "For thou shalt worship no other god: for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous god".
So, his name is actually 'Jealous', not 'God'.

Sometimes we do! And it might be the facts, but the media has a responsibility to report them appropriately.

Yeah I'm with you, I think it was a bit too unnecessarily detailed.
I think we already understood the severity of the attack and didn't need the extra info to illustrate any further.
Comes down to moderation by the Editors , or lack of it seems in this case.....

The report on Nine News Canberra last night gave an account of the crime and was slightly less graphic in the details but still left the viewer in no doubt how violent the attack was.

Yeah, but we'll just invade NZ and take them over that way. They've got no defence force to speak of. Should be easy. They can do all the hakas they want - won't scare our boys and girls!
(That is their main defence strategy - the haka, isn't it?)

Of course it is. I’m entitled to express an opinion on where it should and shouldn’t be spent.

I’m all for floating him offshore in ashark infested waters with nothing more than a small, leaky boat
Not disputing that. Someone was “comparing” us to whinging NZers - just wondering how much they contribute to our economy?

Did any of the other instructors report it to management or was it all kept in the locker room? If no one tells HR then how would they know. Seen it in plenty of other workplaces where people keep it all in locker room/crib room/whatever and never actually do anything useful like lodging an actual report or giving someone adverse appraisal report, with evidence, because that is all too hard and in some cases requires courage and doing work.

And I stand by what I said. Did any of the other instructors have the moral courage to do something? I personally have had the case where I gave an honest report on how ordinary someone was and a number of people said to me "good to see someone finally doing something about X" my response was "I've been away for the last y years, what have you lot been doing?"

Lets be clear. This guy was one of the senior coaches in WSC with other coaches under him. So none of the other junior coaches would say anything as he was also good friend with the senior manager. Dont know if its connected but that manager is not coming back.

And I still stand by what I said, those junior coaches placed their job security over the potential safety of children and others. If they had evidence and the moral courage to go over the top of the senior WSC manager and say why the f wit was unacceptable to be a coach then he would have been fired and kicked out of Australia. Good to hear the manager that was his friend isn't coming back, he enabled this f wit.

Those instructors that were his peers and juniors failed and should be taking a harsh look at themselves.

And he implied by episodes it was enough to have others fired but not this muppet. Other posts in this thread have talked about fights and other incidents. It appears there was an escalating history and no one did jack s**t about it. Like I said those who knew about the other incidents and did nothing need to take a look in the mirror.

I hear the boss that protected him is gone.

I also hear that his current gf visiting him in jail was 14 when he first started sleeping with her.

Are ski resorts going to protect their customers now by testing and sacking staff for meth?

    30% of staff will fail.

Resort insurers and shareholders need to demand it.

Meth junkie pedo rapist ski instructors don't live long in jail.

    He won't make trial. Good.

It was meth junkie staff at thredbo that bashed the teenagers over a carpark.

Only a matter of time before they rape, kill or bash again.

Ski resort staff are bashing and raping people high on ice.

Thought the resorts had drug testing policies for their staff? However, there’s a couple of very long term staff that I know who seemed to have dodged that for many, many years. Have personally seen one light up on lifts, not in uniform at the time, but still....

Are employment conditions in Australia the same as New Zealand?

I have a recollection that NZ changed their rules for outdoor leaders years ago as a result of a sky dive accident. I was led to believe it is now very very strict.

That rate for OZ is a lot below award. Should be $20 to $30, but every resort pays above the award by at least a couple of dollars.

Our it might be in USD.

That’s BS. As a L1 instructor back in 2012 I was paid around $22 per hour. They do only get hours worked though, so unless they are factoring in lineups, the days you go up and don’t get work...
