Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds for people in the North East forecast district
Issued at 11:06 am EST on Monday 18 August 2014.

    Weather Situation
A deepening complex low pressure system is off the central NSW coast with the main low expected to move northward during today.

Damaging winds around 60 km/h with peak gusts of 90 km/h are forecast for parts of the North East forecast district. Winds should be easing during the afternoon and evening.

The Severe Weather Warning for parts of the West and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts has been cancelled, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary.

This is one that delivered well to Perisher, Blue Cow, Guthega, Smiggens & Charlottes. Although the snow is really wet & heavy it has been a great net gain. Precipitation is easing & all is well ATM.

Moving northward is a good sign.

Whole week looking good for overnight freeze/thaw.
Southern aspects likely to be solid, anything in the sun spring-like as the day progresses.
    Worse scenarios than this.

The freeze tonight is just what we need. Some great accumulations across Perisher and this weeks dump. will keep the mountain humming for quite some time. Looking forward to more bluebird days on great snow. :)

Interesting mix of warm and cold pools and not all that much moisture, which is probably a good thing IMO

    EC hardly any better

That blocking high isn't going anywhere, IMO
GFS suggest a system around 1st September,

I've seen the stuff on the ground before but not coming out of the sky. If that date is right I will experience something new. A bit off topic but I couldn't help myself.
