Rain started around 10 last night in Port Macquarie. 45mm and counting. Winds are picking up now.
Yeah, pretty windy and soggy in Sydney.
Upper Macquarie has done well and some more minor flooding at Bathurst. Should go close to filling Lake Burrendong. Wyangla is close to full and should get some more out of this also.
SHould make for some good river floating in summer.
Port tracking at 10mm per hour currently. 65mm and this system has an awful lot of wet and wind left in it.
Day 3 of site inspections on a very large Sydney Harbour facility .... wet, cold, breezy.
Overcast at Falls Creek, winds are down from yesterday when most of the mountain was on wind hold. No new snow that I can see.
Just looked at the web cams for Baw Baw, probably shouldn't have
perfect weather ....
Southerly cold wind here in Jindy with the odd shower blowing through.
Bit of snow at Falls creek judging by some of the cams. Southerly aspects copping it, as Jane predicted.
Coldies blow up across Melbourne CBD. Got very dark and socked in across the city skyline all of a sudden.
Yeh, drizzle all over the CBD.
Tasmanian rain shadow still in effect.
Eastern resorts might be just out of the shadow to get a few cents this arvo.
But heavier than drizzle...
Not so much here in St Kilda rd. Enough to get the ground wet, but not much more.
Yeah it's eased off again now. The City is re-emerging from it's soggy cloak.
Occasional snow flurries here at Falls. The weather seems to have closed in a bit right now but going from sun to overcast most of the day.
From my man on the ground at Perisher:
"The snow is good. Super solid base but a dusting of fresh. Not the 30-80cm forecasted though thats for sure. Maybe 15cm max. But through the trees its sick"
Up at Hotham.. Yesterday was tough with south wind, some stashes but mostly blown away. Today still strong wind, low vis up top, groomers fast this morning 7:30. Almost trying to snow ATM very occasional sun break.
Torrential rain and blardy windy here on the Mid North Coast of NSW.
Weird time of year to be getting a system like this IMO
More of an Autumn through to June type of weather system
More light showers here in Melbourne.
Agree. Sydney in ECL mode. Windy and wild with proper rain, looks like a firehose streaming onshore on the radar.
About to register 100mm at Port since 10pm last night. We've got the rain, but it the wind is building north of here now.
Cold and wet here in St Kilda, pots plants on south side of the house are saturated
Just got drenched running between meetings in Sydney. Bucketing down.
Sydney Observatory Hill's wettest day on record was due to an August ECL (1986).
I think I remember an ECL hit Sydney in September '95 after a rainless August.
Snowing lightly at perisher when I left at 3:30, snowing down to wilsons valley (1500m). Nothing substantial
A dusting settling on cars etc at DP now
Looks like NSW resorts might pick up a few cm tonight going by the radar temps a good for it.
South Perisher just now.
Tough you say ... should see Baw Baw ,I've ruined my rock hoppers Send some love our way please
wow its hosing down here in North Sydney
Love BawBaw, sending snow dances your way!
Southerlies have done no favours to BB or LM. Just a degree or two too warm. Signs of things to come, I fear.
Same as these resorts ever were.
No. Too much evidence that it's actually happening, as WP suggests above. First week of August - have a look around.
Stay on topic.
Currently 11 according to bom on the Nth end of Sunshine coast - feels colder.
A dusting in Thredbo village... Lots of passing snow showers but not substantial... Village was zero last time I passed Candlelight
I observe almost a whole centimetre since 4.30pm at Falls.
Earlier I observed all the snow blown off the south faces by the same wind that blew me from towers lift to Last Hoot without poling!
Snowing in the village at Thredbo. About 1cm settled on cars in carpark
Grey ships .....
I observe Da Fetch.
snowing in Falls village to add to a cm on the tables overnight
