    Yes, I've just see it.
Storms seem to be more out Gippsland way to me though. Just starting to fire up over Cranny.

Instability over Mt Gambier this AM. Nothing too wild but looks to have matured with diurnal heating. Gippsland will see the bulk of it this arvo.

Occasional warm drizzle is probably my least favourite type of rain...

Off topic, but the process should have been TSRC no to -> SSA -> SSA make other arrangements (Perisher?) -> Then communicate to participants. As of right now, the only people who know are TSRC members and viewers of the TSRC website. Still no comms from SSA.

Drove up to Perisher this morning - creeks full but it was just drizzly rain at 9-9:30am. Cover looks to have held up surprisingly well (apart from Smiggins which is to be expected).

Drove up to Thredbo for a look around at 11am and it was torrential then backing off to just annoying rain.
Sitting in Thredbo Valley near Wild Brumby and clouds are clearing - no rain - radar is clearing - I might dust off the skis for a late afternoon run.

No stuff for a while here in Canberra, dark clouds abound though. Tonights ride has been cancelled.

I caught the bus in this morning due to the rain. Very unusual for Canberra having morning rain.

Adelaide just dropped from 16 to 13 degrees with a fair bit of rain, maybe optimistic, but it's all I have to cling onto!

Skiing not to bad at thredbo considering the rain. The mountain has held up better then I expected. Hail/snow/mush sticking to the top terminal of kosi as I look out the window of bull wheel.

Thredbo top station down to 0.7C possibly due to increase in NW wind, it seems. Precip still accumulating so probably seeing flurries at top station.

Yep, on all of Thredbo they couldn't find enough skiable vertical fall to meet the SSA/FIS requirements, Ironic.

Quite clear here in Thredbo. Some cloud about, but at the moment I can see sunshine hitting the mountain. Lets hope the snow has held up ok.

You'd think it would be worth their while pulling down the two monster jumps up at Antons and over next to Waimea , pushing it onto High Noon . Logistical effort transporting I guess simply too much . Or probs they need it more for the next few weeks to keep the lifts spinning.

I observe that at least another 50mm rain followed by possibly 20cm of wet gluggy snow in the east was not what I was hoping for this weekend to be skiing that sneaky sw bowl down to leatherbarrel.....!

Pretty clear top to bottom now. The snow is holding up far better than expected considering the amount of rain that has fallen. Several bare patches, but pretty creamy really.

Remember one year many moons ago where they had to build a load ramp mid way up Sponars just to keep it running one september so it may be being saved for that.

    That was a tough year

There's alot of O/S competitors in town for slopestyle events at the moment. I imagine they'd want to keep the parks running for them.

Every year when they start building the jump for OneHitWonder, people ask if they are farming snow. No, no they are not.

But they kind of are. Those hits are always an investment for later - late season the consolidated pile gets re-distributed.
On topic, Thredbo top station just dropped 2 C in 30 mins.

High level cloud streaming across central NSW from the North West.

Atmosphere is primed here on the Cenco (Umina). Cloud thickening up and just copped a 1 second burst of "rain" that appears to have come out of a very small cloud.

Either that or a flock of Pelicans flew over and broke the seal....

Farming snow will be the future.

Logistics would be a nightmare but have always thought that one solution to sea level rise would be to build a wind farm in Antarctica next to a desal plant and then pump massive amounts of fresh water to the higher elevations to rebuild the ice cap.

Nightmare job but would solve our problems if we acted sooner rather than later. Sorry CC, way off topic.

just driven from melbourne via thredbo to jindy.
thredbo looks sad with many patches on lower slopes.
    jindy mainly sunny and mildish.

First of the Rain has just come into Radar Range and heading to Coonabarabran NW of the Hunter.

Looking at the Satellite, this is the leading edge of the NW Cloud Band meaning that it is fully loaded with moisture.

The last few Nor Westers have had the rain a fair way behind the leading edge so this one is showing early signs of having good duration.

Especially considering that the main Low is still just forming up in western SA.

    Build an Ark

To clarify, I am more looking at developments for Syd, Cenco and the Hunter at this stage seeing as they will be the first hit by the Low (other than SA and NT Meh)
