Got to be at least 10cm at Baw Baw
9cm is the official number at Bawbs
What is a Bull-er
7 now at Perisher by gauge , piling up slowly at smiggs , started st 4ish, wind died down around 6 , still steady but gusts not as strong
Falls Creek looking special this morning Pics to come during the day. Has this system got a name? Bass Strait Beast?
Baw Baw looking great again.
30cm fresh at Hotham down blue ribbon would be egg-ceptional today
Obs Moonbah to PV...
1. Departure circa 7:00 am and 5 degrees
3. On the road....temps started to drop at Waste Point. About 0 degrees up past Wilson’s. Chains from Wilson’s. Some poor folks car buried deep in a ditch at Sponars. Car off the road.
4. Heavy snow falling on the drive up past Dainers Gap.
5. Winds seem to have (currently) moderated somewhat at PV village level. Minus 2 in the car park. Calling 7-10 cms. Snow is in great condition. Folks will be skiing a good depth of snow in Front Valley first up!!
I love the Hotham social media, “Lets just go on random walks to nowhere around lodges to find where the snow has drifted and film it.”
Big wet flakes falling at Thredbo village level.
Coming down hard now at Wilson’s Valley.
Chucking it down at Thredbo, no wind.
Mt Donna Buang early this morning.
Pics from Mountain Tuckers fb page.
Delete no wind.
3cm about right for the Buller DCP. Sigh, always the bridesmaid...
And more like 5cm on mid-mountain. Some snow is always better than no snow.
I observe, literally, large flakes on the Michaels mistake can
I also observe me getting flack in my ski trip WhatsApp group for over frothing
Mustn't be believers, I'll convert em yet
Wow factor on its way South of Adelaide. Churning, spinning, cold and wet.
Currently snowing at Corin Forest in the ACT .
Quite heavy snow at Hotham have been knee deep but very hard going (for me)
A small slide under village chair.
Break time and I’m wet ..
Solid 10 at Smiggs now , retro is sitting back with coffee after car park clearing , Thanks to the plough, he has reserved in back pocket now ..
Looking for entry point, will head about 930 , all fun .. but good 10 and heavy snow this time
Road closed as well at this time
Hire some phat (-er) ones?
Should be a good thing for the integrity of the snow pack
Snow down to penderlea
And 15cm and counting at Perisher, per snow stake.
Does anyone know where at the resort this is?
Has to be hidden somewhere so it's not easily sabotaged.......
It is at Blue Cow. Somewhere in the trees beneath Brumby T-Bar off to side of Rollercoaster run.
Not surprised, 5 degrees and dumping rain in middle of Canberra. Its generally snowing at Corin when its no more than 7-8 here. Would be accumulating down a lot lower too, maybe 1000m?
Right under your nose mate:
My guess is somewhere sheltered like the mid station powerades...
Oh my... Perisher Valley
Actually... It's in one of the lower snow areas in blue cow.
Was the snowstake just cleared? it appears so.
As per perishers instagram post, it’s cleared at 9 am
Was cleared shortly after 9am, as it probably will be every day. Looks like around 15cm or so fell before it was cleared.
Wow, slow down in the gong this morning.
From Thredbo FB:
Looking good there now in the NSW resorts.
I thought they would leave it so we could all observe a cumulative total. Perhaps they are optimistically hoping for several stakes’ worth of snow!
We spent all the money on slushy machines, couldn’t afford to tip off Mother Nature as well
Starting to look more like 10 on top of apira roof.
Have often thought there should be a series of stakes so that one can be the daily, another can be a storm total. Though a 'storm total' one would also be susceptible to loss
