Falls Creek looking special this morning Pics to come during the day. Has this system got a name? Bass Strait Beast?
Obs Moonbah to PV... 1. Departure circa 7:00 am and 5 degrees 2. Lake. 3. On the road....temps started to drop at Waste Point. About 0 degrees up past Wilson’s. Chains from Wilson’s. Some poor folks car buried deep in a ditch at Sponars. Car off the road. 4. Heavy snow falling on the drive up past Dainers Gap. 5. Winds seem to have (currently) moderated somewhat at PV village level. Minus 2 in the car park. Calling 7-10 cms. Snow is in great condition. Folks will be skiing a good depth of snow in Front Valley first up!!
I love the Hotham social media, “Lets just go on random walks to nowhere around lodges to find where the snow has drifted and film it.”
3cm about right for the Buller DCP. Sigh, always the bridesmaid... And more like 5cm on mid-mountain. Some snow is always better than no snow.
I also observe me getting flack in my ski trip WhatsApp group for over frothing Mustn't be believers, I'll convert em yet
Quite heavy snow at Hotham have been knee deep but very hard going (for me) A small slide under village chair. Break time and I’m wet ..
Solid 10 at Smiggs now , retro is sitting back with coffee after car park clearing , Thanks to the plough, he has reserved in back pocket now .. Looking for entry point, will head about 930 , all fun .. but good 10 and heavy snow this time Road closed as well at this time
Not surprised, 5 degrees and dumping rain in middle of Canberra. Its generally snowing at Corin when its no more than 7-8 here. Would be accumulating down a lot lower too, maybe 1000m?

Was cleared shortly after 9am, as it probably will be every day. Looks like around 15cm or so fell before it was cleared.
I thought they would leave it so we could all observe a cumulative total. Perhaps they are optimistically hoping for several stakes’ worth of snow!
Have often thought there should be a series of stakes so that one can be the daily, another can be a storm total. Though a 'storm total' one would also be susceptible to loss
