Glorious day here in Melbourne.
I observed a nice morning at Palm Beach. Continuing to be much warmer water than normal through winter (around 21C at Sydney beaches - only dropped down to about 19C and now seems to be making an early climb upwards again, weird!) and lots of people on various equipment in the water to share with.
I observe cloud and sun and soft snow and people. Buller.
Peeps are starting to get their snow fix and interest in the snow (and this forum) has peaked for this season.
Was glorious day at Falls today. Mostly sun, bit of cloud about but stayed reasonably cold. Now at Hotham and lodge says -1.5.
I observe a bluebird long weekend. Bit of high cloud at times but cracking conditions in the backcountry!
I observed a mostly cloudy and cold day here close to the ACT. I was working outside most of the day and it felt colder than it was all day. I observed a nice sunset as the sun under-lit (is that a word?) the low clouds from a clear spot in the west.
I observe a nice cracking fire in the fireplace tonight.
Hotham, nice sunny weekend with little wind. Great. But less snow than the start of week. Davenport no snow at bottom, orchard remains closed and extreme area also closed due to lack of snow at bottom. Wind and cloud now increasing again.. Need more snow, hardly Olympic 2nd week of August ATM..
skied Perisher on Sunday - light winds, reasonable crowds. IMHO the snow cover is only just sufficient - particularly for mid-August. A few more sunny days this week and they will be suffering. Really does need another decent dump to push the season into September...
I observe Perth copping the full brunt of this front right now
Forecast top temp of 15 degrees with possible hail and frequent showers today - radar showing plenty of action
A bit of light rain and wind making it feel pretty cold outside here in Melbourne.
And now the sun comes out!
Perfect ornamental pear pruning weather here on the peninsula.
There's diddly squat on the Melb radar. Been dry and mostly sunny all day here in Brighton.
I had to take a walk earlier this morning and although it was a touch brisk, especially with the stiff NW, the sun was pleasant.
Observed a very tidy day at Thredbo, a little windy up top early on, and some nice patches of remaining powder to be found. Lower half cover needing a top up later in the day in a few areas after quite a warm one with virtually nil cloud.
Can't complain one bit, far more snow cover than the floor at work, and a perfect way to start our 7 days!
A touch brisk...
Sun was pleasant....
Old man edge.
Already been in Brighton too long.
Fair dinkum, I walked out of work at 9, and there's a Range Rover parked on the street with a white highland white terrier peering out at me from the cream leather front passenger seat.
Nice day at falls , wind rising up . Snow on piste very good
Wow, Albany airport reached it's daytime max of 9.3C @1430hrs. Given it's not far off sea level, that's almost certainly snow for the Stirling Ranges today. 4mm in the tank so maybe a few centimeters at that too..
