Please just make it to Buller (vested interest as I am doing day trip Friday!!)
She's got a bit of North in it so I think Buller may actually fair best out of this. I think NSW resorts may be robbed here tonight - just a hunch though.
Like, but always want all resorts to fair well!
Jeeeez- hail, hail, wind and hail here at Frankston! Intense for 10 mins
3.4C degree drop for Avalon in the last hour.
Moorabbin Airport just picked up 3.2mm and 1.6 degree drop in 6 mins.
Just took the garbo out in Northern Sydney...smelling spring blooms tonight!
If Baw Baw temps stay low , we may get a top up as well
Pouring down here in Canterbury.
Washed your bin out lately?
6C drop in 3 mins (WTF) for Frankston half an hour ago. That squall line is lighting up on the radar.
Serious, my garden is blooming! About 2 weeks earlier than norm.
Daphne smells great.
Lightning on the northern beaches
Good build-up to the north of Melbourne on the radar now (between Bendigo & Seymour). Next stop Vicco alps.
Going to want to make it count as this looks to hold the majority of the snowfall tonight IMO.
Word from Buller that just started snowing lightly and v windy.
Just ask the grape growers. Grapes are ripening on average 1 to 2 days early per year, every year over the last 20 years. Smart growers are going up slope or heading south.
Sorry, off topic but nature has spoken. Will we listen......
Does that marry up with the continental drift north?
Sorry, off topic.
Ferny Creek just picked up 7mm in 30 mins (on topic).
Stay on topic.
Trying hard at LM:
nice rain band going through melbourne.
We could pick up up to 10mm.
Snowing at Hotham, Starting to settle on the balcony
Snowing at Falls Creek going by their Instagram
15.3mm rain here in Emerald Vic temp down to 6 degrees.
This year was one of the first times a certain years vintage grapes were picked at the end of the previous year.
Few cm's on an ice block at hotham. If It doesn't snow much more, tomorrow will be horrid.
8-10cm is likely for Hotham by the morning IMO.
Starting to snow in Thredbo
Some heavier stuff registering in the tanks at Baw Baw & Buller...
we have straw!
Faith has been re-strawed...
Nothing more than a dusting on South Perisher cam, but still looks like some flurries.
Buller with 6mm registered in the gauge, Falls and Baw Baw with 4mm.
...tha-tha-tha that's all folks...
Definitely more than 4cm on the cedarwood cam. I'm suggesting roughly double that.
Reports are in...
Falls Creek: 10cm
Baw Baw: 6cm
LM reporting only 2cm.
What's happened to the southerly systems this year? All these NW & W systems favour the nothern resorts.
Pretty much as expected after it dried up yesterday.
Dowm Davenport way mayne 5cm
Beautiful morning but a disappointing system, particularly considering the heavy rain of Tuesday night. Oh well, time to get out there
A dusting here in Smiggins overnight at best. Not enough to even hold on the balcony. Snow guns are firing again at least.
Will need to search hard for that 3cm today....
Bluebird, with a frosting in the village at Thredbo. Could be interesting skiing again I think. Glad I am on a course, so even yesterday was fun!
The system that wasn't unless you ski in Tasmania or like rain.
20cm of powder yesterday and overnight on ben lomond. slopes will be sick
Baw Baw claiming to have 20cm in snow making areas, got hut run and tank hill open. Better than yesterday!
BB Cams looking good, we finally might see some more lift openings at BB
Seems to be a solid 5cm at Hotham. More on East facing slopes, less on West.
Falls done pretty well to get 10cm
TableOmeter at Cedarwood says thats about right.
Nice to have a freshen up for my arrival tomorrow.
Hopefully a few showers can push up this arvo and drop a coulpe more cm's before it clears
