I observe 3 small bands of moisture on the radar from the VIC/SA border to Benalla. Will they deliver anything to the ski fields ?

    Crowds.

Sorry. The resort hopecasts on the radio this afternoon were talking up the possibility of light snowfalls overnight.

Looking like another Vic System. Solid rainband heading towards Melb but not a lot showing up along the border.

Its not unusual for this time of year. NSW usually does better earlier in the season thanks to the extra height and the Main Range Effect whilst Vic scores better as spring gets closer and they get the benefit of the Fast Moving Clippers.

We really need a sustained SW with a deep 4 day Fetch. Maybe around August 28 ;) IMO

I observe from looking at the current sat pic that if that high was positioned a little further north it would be on big time with one front after the other front changing this season from an OK season to something special.
Vibes would also be much better

Charlotte Pass says 2cm overnight. Perisher 1cm and Thredbo says they got nothing.

Falls posted a clip on their FB around 9pm (before the front) last night saying they'd already received a 'few cm'... So sounds like marketing had a slightly different agenda.

1 or 2cm of fresh on the lodge balcony (Perisher, just up from the Telemark T Bar).

Breezy and quite snowy looking clouds lurking.

Perhaps I'm missing something but why do people post what the reported snowfall is?

Easy enough to just click on 'Snow Reports' yeah? There you can see all the resorts at once.....

CC had posted above that Buller had received 1cm. According to the snow report on Buller's website they have had 8cm of new snow. I didn't wish to make an issue of it, so simply updated the latest info.

I think they updated after the initial report. 8cm seems reasonable looking at the cams.

Just in for lunch at falls.
Snow nice on the backside, but sticky on the front. No more snow since probably 830 this morning. Crowds not to bad either.
Bit foggy but sun is coming out occasionally.
    Great fun.

Back in for lunch here at smiggins.
Great fun morning out there and crowds bearable for a Saturday.
Visibility was low but plenty of fun fresh tracks to be found if you know where to look.
Snow is holding up well given almost 2 weeks since any decent dumpage.
Sun is popping out now and temps still in the negatives

Reporting an observation of a snow report is not only a valid observation, but entirely on topic, regardless of the accuracy of the report.

On another note - seems more like mid September here in Dinner Plain.

Also have just observed a husky being pushed around in a chariot.

Thredbo go a dusting, but some of the drifts were reasonably fresh and skiing quite nicely.

Breezy, cloudy up the top this morning but started clearing this arvo.

According to the Perisher site, temps already 4.3 up top and 4.8 in the village! Going to be a warm one
