Some storms cropping up around Melbourne this arvo, a good one out to the south of me over the southern end of the bays. If i was fishing the western channel of WP id be coming in very quickly.

[auto-censor] down in Frankston, some hail, a lot of lightning & BOM recorded a 95km wind gust.

It would almost feel like winter if it wasn't so warm still..

Nice Lightning show to the South & West from the Yarra Valley since about 5.30pm the Peninsular must have taken a hammering judging by the radar. No rain here so far and awful warm for this time year.

My guestimate was 30mm in cranbourne, it came down hard. I had topsoil, not any more.

Great lightning show though, anyone on the bay would have had a super view.

15mm at St Andrews. Most of that came after midnight (12mm) and in about half an hour. Up the hill at Kinglake, they only had 4mm.

A nice band of rain passing through St Kilda now. We might be in for 10-15mm over the next 24 hours (MLAPS).

31 Deg in Sydney today, the hottest late april temp for around 88 years. 29 tomorrow and then some rain.
Looks like some good rainfall over the next week which will be great for the winter crop planting for the farmers. Maybe a little snow as well but does'nt look like much.

may get a few flurries up high sat nite into sunday.
more promising for next tue/wed snow wise.

if the charts fall the right way over the next 5 or so days i think anything could happen?
atm they are boarderline snow systems but they could easily turn into great fronts.

He has definitely put himself out there....I wonder if his forecast will hold, or whether it will be another John Moore style beat up.

System is gone now, well severely weakened. Looks like 16th is the next one on the cards.

GFS runs this afternoon seem to indicate a small system coming through on the 11 & 12th May IMO - it's reappeared Plowking?
EC does seem to support this. I'm not expecting much, possibly similar to what we saw earlier this week.

IMO this coming system looks like it has a bit of potential, its been predicting it on and off for a while (more on), supported by multiple charts and being less than a week out, it pretty much deserves it's own predictions thread. Although, this stretch of pre-season has been a bit fizzy so I'm not gonna guess it gives any more than a dusting.

Like look of the constant systems coming through at the moment. Some of the highs dont look that strong and anchored to progged position IMO. One of the next three or four look like they could pop through and give a nice suprise.IMO 16th looks better than the others at the moment.
