welcome to the best 3 months of surfing on the east coast - abating crowds, more frequent swells, still warm enough to keep your toes, but cold enough to let you get away with no suncream. bring it on skippy [IMG]

Easter holidays are always the turning point for me. Don't even think of going anywhere at Easter in fact sometimes Sydney can be the best place to be. After Easter :woohoo:

Wen't to dribs point this morning for the early before uni. Was around 3' and clean but still straightening up all morning till about the time when I had to leave. Was a good surf after all the onshores we've been having down south and the lack of size on the mid but looks like I will have to give it a miss this w/e and save up some pety money for a better day!

    Bring on Winter!!!!

It is a pile of rocks but everyone calls it the point so I follow [IMG] but anyway was down there this morning with a solid 4' but still a bit lumpy with the offshores cleaning it up as the morning progressed but it was good to get out in some sizeable clean surf again, will be back down at goolwa on saturday [IMG] Have a good one all!

Solid 5ft with some boomer 6ft+ sets ( almost double overhead as I think some people call it these days)from the south. Macs outside point was even lighting with the bigger sets. 1 local just paddling out at 1:15 and my neighbour throwing the stick in the work ute and I am into it. Amazing, the best swell since pre Christmas and we are paddling out to make a crowd of 6. The wind was about 15knts from the ENE but the swell was regular and dredging on the point. Bloody hell ya get rusty over summer. I got caught inside and smoozed over and rolled around the cugi by one set. It was very hard to make it through the second section but it sure was fun cranking off the bottom, up the face and setting up the suck for a go. I haven't heard the surf make that sort of noise for a while. Go a few boomers, only got sucked into an over the falls once.

    Not big but real enough.

Should be on in the morning but the tide will be running out ..... I have a 4 day weekend.

    Surfs up, get amongst it.

i got a call from my mate on the way home from work yesterday telling me theres a bit of a wave and he didnt have a board with him so i said i bring him the old lid i got gathering dust (i ride a stand up and have done for the last 22 years) i couldnt find the flippers so i just through my spare board in for him. anyways i drive in to the carpark to see some solid sets rolling through around the 6-8 foot mark. i then say to him why didnt u tell me the surf was pumping? i new my fish wasnt gonna cope so i didnt even bother paddling out there anyways so i headed round to the back reefs but the swell was just the wrong direction and only coming through about 1-2 foot. but we were both keen as to get wet. however i know what the swell is like today so i will go prepared. so heres to praying for the late arvo glass of [IMG]

Not so good down here this morning. The swell is just too straight for the beaches I checked. Maybe tomorrow morning...

Sorry to hear about your site Ben, some people have no respect or any idea about all the hardwork and energy that goes into maintaining a site like yours, and to have them bring you down with a cowardly attack as was with your site is frustrating to say the least!

Hope you get it all sorted and back on track without too much hassel, keep up the good work

12-15' Shipsterns yesterday, light offshore winds and sunny skies, and an A-list Billabong team on hand. Expect to see plenty of footage around the traps over the next few days.

Surfed the dump down south yesterday and it was a good 3' with the righthander producing some awesome rides all the way into the shore break along the walling racy face, twas a good day with the cross/onshore wind only light in the morning and only really picking up later in the arvo [IMG]

Not bad in Sydney this morning. Offshore with a 3-5ft groundswell. Bi straight but caught some good ones between closeouts. Also got hammered a few times but it was all fun.
Now I remember why I like surfing.

    very true

I watched a guy set up his kite recently and it was a pretty amazing process. They inflate around the edges. I never knew that. Bloody big and powerful looking apparatus. Too much for my worn bones. I will stick to a keel and a kite.

    Okay back to the waves.

Keep you eye on it. Currently on the real CC the wind is howling and the rain is falling BUT the ocean is stirring. It felt sort of "interesting" last night with the ocean sending in strange wind slop but with some extra long range stuff mixed up in it.

Keep your eye on the horizon and comb ya wax.

Plenty of swell rolling in. 3-4ft with some o\h ones coming through. The ENE is kicking in now though. Worth a dusk paddle tonight I reckon. Swell, right tide .... slight breeze maybe

Yesterday morning was good - really good. Given the right winds (nor-easters forecast), the next few days should really be something around Sydney/Central Coast/Wollongong. It's coming up now and could be around 3 metres by late this arvo. :woohoo:

Beautiful conditions this morning. Glassy smooth, light offshore 3-4ft with the very occasional bigger set.

Gotta work till late then I am gonna get sick for a day.

Pulled up in the carpark on the real CC at 7:30pm ...... fork me it is 8ft perfection (a bit late though [IMG] )

Looks like the early, early sesh is oooorrrrrnnnnn!!! High tide is a big one 1.9m around 7:00am which will make a 3m E swell with offshore winds eat a few beaches.

Large waves reported just about everywhere this afternoon - just got off the phone to a few crew on the South Coast who towed into some 10'ers at a remote bommie. Angourie was 8' tonight too. Next in line.. Gold Coast [IMG]
