    Nice waves Freddy

Range in wave heights yesterday. Was a consistnet 2-3' with the odd 4' set. A bit morning sick in the morning but cleaned up considerably after a few hours. The banks were a bit average, lots of closeouts but some nice ones as well. The banks were quite shallow leading to very fast hollow waves which gave you a bit of a pounding if caught inside trying to get back out after catching a wave in [IMG]

I broke my back skiing a few years back, not spinal or anything, but i get this weird electric shock in my lower back on right side where the break was when i have to really stretch out paddling hard, if the wind is southwest through the week there's a good chance for a yamba mission for a couple days late this week.

Looks like some nice waves nethertheless pm, did you get some good waves still or was it too hard to stay in position?

Got a couple down on main beach, just to hard and to much luck needed at the Pass, well with a mild hangover.

It's a short period swell isn't it? So the southern corners won't get much size?

Surfed Broken head for about 4 1/2 hrs yesterday, couple hours out at lennox today (started off with only 6 in the water, not heard of anywhere up here let alone lennox [IMG] ), don't really have any good shots but will post a couple from broken yesterday soon, swell is almost dead but we have a new south swell coming Sunday.

Don't worry we've had enough rain up here (if the green in the bottom pictures isn't enough proof) and southerly change has brought more. Hows the guy in the top shot in a steamer, guy in the 2nd shot walking out in boardies. Waters still about 22deg, air temp had been 22-24deg until yesterday. Still waiting for my new spring suit to come for the early surfs, should get me through winter too.

Paddle due west for 2000k's or so and surf Phillip Island [IMG]
I remember a day at the Pass in 1980. Full employment time.We used to come down from Lismore as I got time off in lieu. There were 4 of us out, might have been a Wednesday, 4 foot, and that's all the way up Clark's,all riding long boards, ahead of or out of time. I had a 9 foot Micky Most (?sic) Hawaiian gun that had 6 foot of straight in the tail. Wife was riding an 8' 6'' of my own design.God it was awful. There was a younger guy and his sister riding old mals.He did a headstand. Those were the days after the days that nobody knows about.

Great shots PM, love the last two!

I scored double overhead, barrelling, freight train rights on Sunday and Monday with only 2 others out beside me and my mate on Sunday and double that on Monday [IMG]

    Photo's of the bigger sets..

Here's screen grabs from video so the quality is dodgy and these aren't any set waves. I didn't spend much time waiting to get footage because I was freezing and the wave is too far out anyway to get anything decent [IMG]

Plowking , paddle south and you'd end up in Antarctica! Image is of Awakino River Mouth , Nth Is NZ, the flax in the foreground is a giveaway. 39.21 degrees south= @PI. SAS shots impress.

Already pretty big up here on the north coast, should be good waves in the bay tomorrow, maybe lennox if the swell isn't outta control.
Couple pic's from the last couple days with not much surf.

I surfed the 2nd ave beachie early. Bit of a struggle, haven't been out much lately and have no paddling fitness.

Look like the size you have down there is on the way here! Big lumps on the horizon..

This afternoon was pretty sweet in the bay, with just an awesome sunset. Couple pro's out, quite a few camera's on the beach, managed to snag myself a few waves. No pic's but i do wish i got a few with that sunsut, might be a few online over the next week.

Nice pics guys. Good to hear you all got good waves. I had a grovel at seaford in 1-1.5ft waves but wrote of my planned surfing day today due to getting wat to drunk last night

And those guys were towinf into pretty small surf, is that cause the sweep was too bad to paddle it?

Yeah big sweep and waves pushing really wide. Probable just fun and a good practice day(One tow in team was really struggling with timing), only four guys trying to paddle the point(on big boards). Didn't drive down to flat rock but it has been know for some good tow-ins, might have been a bit more going on down there.

The last set of pics look real nice!

I went to Waits yesterday and there was a nice left hand bank which was created by a pretty strong rip coming out through a channel. But this helped wall up the waves when they came which were around 2-3'. Was a great day with hardly anyone around at all [IMG]

    Oh and I have a new camera. It's a Canon 20D and here's a shot from yesterday..

Yeah we in Vic will have awesome waves for over a week. I'll try get some pix tomorrow. Cold, windy and big swell might keep the school holiday kids out of the water, fingers crossed!

I'm gonna miss this swell [IMG]

I have too much uni work to do. It's gonna be 6ft and offshore down Victor tomorrow and I have to sit at uni behind my computer..

I will get the tail end of it on Saturday but that's too late for any real size!
