I saw an add today in Pacific Longboarder where Dripping Wet were selling TL2 stock for $450. More than you paid there parkmonkey, but a good price. I assume this colour issue is common.

I'm a middle aged gent now hitting around 90kegs, so I need more volume in my boards. I had a look on the surftech website and sadly they don't seem to do any boards in that TL2 construction that would suit me. (ie 6'6" - 6'8", 19.5" wide minimum and at least and preferably a bit over 2.5" thick).

Southy eh? Looking at those photos I saw Whittaker et al coming in on the jet ski at Bronte. All three of those guys came in one the same ski. I don't know if they were being towed in or paddled in as I only saw one wave out of the corner of my eye as I was parking.

I ride the Pancho's cos they are 2 1/2 think, Pancho's like 94kgs, i'm a bit under 90kg but still have the paddle power for the shorter boards. I think pretty much all the TL2's went a bit dull, i can get them W/S but with postage don't think i would have got one here for $375. I had mine out in some really small surf this morning, only got a couple waves but it felt good managed to hack out a couple turns and got round for a little 360 on a close out.

You might be surprised if you can get yourself on a TL2 6'4 with your other required dimensions, a lot of people say you can get away dropping a couple of inches on the tuflites.

Thanks mate. I really shouldn't be looking at another board. My wife's going to give birth to our first little one in August so it's prams and cots and clothes etc at the moment. I have enough boards to get me by at the moment (ahem....5 of 'em) but I truly do surf them all....ok, there's one I don;t surf much but it's a favourite and I know I'll get back to it. Absolutely loving my Miller Waterskate and Firewire 6'8". They're the two I ride 8 times out of 10 (ie except tiny surf).

Not yet. Just haven't had (made) time to try any on. I have a sneaking suspicion I'm just a boring old "M" though. Am leaning towards the Dawn Patrol as noted by buzz. Recent car servicing has left a few holes in the pocket !

yes mods have been very tolerant here, better watch out though.

Returned to this beach after 15 odd years last weekend. I lived locally for 15 years before that and in that time never saw a decent bank where this one is, nor a half way decent barrel.
Walk down on Sunday and somebody is tubed going right and another dude is in the air going left!
    Such is surf.
Most amazingly, no bitou bush! Maybe the dunes are higher or something and the banks better??
Anyway the carpark was full of out of state plates.
The world champ and his mate Parko were seen at the break around the headland on the Friday, missed that.
(That pic a few pages back on AKL west coast Donza?)

Belated surf reports. Saturday 3-5 foot at Bondi and not looking good (thisis arvo report). Bronte around the same but much cleaner. Sundar 3-4 foot at Bondi and much cleaner. Nice waves, but no classic banks and too early to tell how the banks will be in a "normal size" swell.

I'd love to surf it too, could happily go back to south america for 6 months, two or three months skiing, three or four months surfing. I wasn't ready to come home after my two months over there i hardly even traveled around.

There were a couple of turtle rapers out there this morning. The best are the turtle rapers with gloves and hoods on, plus full length wetties, the waters still 23deg surly they are just trying to hide their identity.

like to see you softcocks ride this break (my fav bodyboarding spot) Loc: Knights Beach, SA

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CRMjrbsKOlM

Super steep shorey with barrels you can drive a bus through. The sidewinder off the rocks is amazing fun, this vid shows it a bit but it only really starts working when its 4ft +. You can see the sidewinder colliding with the wave in pic 2

Here are some photos from last month.

    Snapper about 3-4 weeks ago..

The pass at byron about 2 weeks ago.

Not the best photos. I was too interested in surfing to take many photos. I got waves at Noosa, national park. Greenmount, and the pass at Byron. mostly small but i had fun.

3-4 foot at Bondi yesterday and he best waves I'd had in a while. Really great fun.

Did my back afterwards yesterday doing housework so no surfing today. I can't stand up straight. Bugger, because the waves look great.

Incidentally climberman, I've used the new Dawn Patrol wettie for two surfs now and it's fantastic. Wetties improve so much over 4-5 years. I'm sure the more upmarket wetties offer more flexibility but for a basic 3/2 wettie to keep you warm in Sydney/Wollongong and last more than 2 winters I can't see how you'd go wrong (or the equivalent on another manufacturer's line).

Absolutely off chops over the weekend on the east coast, particularly yesterday....checked it early arvo and it was unfortunate that the low tide coincided then as the place I did check was pitting like crazy, but just too fast, it needed more water on the banks.....craig how did you go, did ya score?!
