Looking great Cam, I am tempted to join one of the snow shoe tours on Saturday however I think my woeful fitness might bring me undone. Sunday will be "tele 'til you're jelly" time for sure.

Well done on putting all this together.

Looks great, well done. I must admit I had a laugh at the 50 minutes est. time from Windy Corner to Pretty Valley. I guess I am a bit slow, I think it takes me 50 mins just to get to Ruined Castle! :)

Good point Weerab. I'll have the entire editorial staff sacked immediately. What do you think is a more reasonable estimate of time, 90 mins?

For me, about 2 hours with a pack but 90 minutes is probably a good estimate for younger skiers! :) Thanks for even spending time answering my stupid comment! I take it that the entire editorial staff is your good self?

thanks - I updated that. I'm a bit sketchy on how long it takes to get to Pretty Valley as normally I'm heading further out when I head through there. Yes, the editorial 'team' is me.

We've had a few more offers of sessions so we now have a near to final program:
    https://backcountry-festival.com/whats-on/

Apart from the telemark clinics, we have one on navigation skills, snow camping 101, and a special tour with our very own Ziggy.

The film festival is shaping up well. We have a small venue for that (~ 70 people) so you will need to register for the festival to get first offer on a seat for that (rego is free).
    https://backcountry-festival.com/register-for-the-festival/

Now all we need is some snow!

    hey everyone
the clinics and workshops being offered by Falls Creek Cross Country are filling up, so I would suggest you book in if you want to do one of them, check the program, which has details on each tour and then email them directly. Thanks.

    hi all

    UPDATE

You can now get a ticket for the film festival on sat night here: They will sell out soon so get onto it if you're keen.
    https://backcountry-festival.com/backcountry-film-festival/

And it would be worth registering for the clinics if you want to do the free 'intro to tele' courses as they are also getting full.
    https://backcountry-festival.com/whats-on/

We have 140 regos, plus there are 2 avalanche courses happening at the same time.

World telemark day outing on the sunday for anyone who is still standing:

You can register here. Apart from the film night (and resort entry) the clinics, workshops etc are all free. Thanks to Falls Creek Cross Country and everyone who has offered a tour or clinic for donating their time: https://backcountry-festival.com/register-for-the-festival/

    Its going to be epic!

    hi all -
the program is chockers: there are 2 options:
    - 2 sets of clinics in the morning plus tour in the afternoon, or
    - an all day tour (with an intermediate or advanced option).

We've added a beacon search workshop, a tour to Mt McKay to get some steeps, and a session for women who are interested in getting into the backcountry.

We're also doing a print run of a festival tshirt (thanks to Simon Murray for the logo), with all profits going to the mountain pygmy possum recovery program at Mt Buller (need to get orders by Aug 16).

Many thanks to everyone who has chipped in to run a tour or workshop, volunteer, etc.
