I think we could see another maybe 3-4cm of snow tommorrow arvo/ night with another westerly front after a big freeze overnight..The atmosphere should still be cold enough for snow tommorrow above 1200-1300m . .. Thursday weather will be ok ., friday will be a beauty.. Worth taking a day off .. Saturday will be ok early but gobbler in the afternoon / evening with a front on Sunday that may be a bit warm for snow but shouldn,t do too much damage... The next snow from then will be looking like arriving from friday the 1st..

All of next week should be clear with nice big frost overnight to keen the cover fresh !

I fear that by the end of this weekend it may well all be gone. Temps look high along with a bit of precipitation..

Yeah maybe above zero during the day, but i think the freeze and frost each morning could reinstate the integrity of the slope

It looks like snow should start to fall again on monday and tuesday. Who knows how much but i'd think it would be falling on a bare mountain as the rain preceding it will strip most of the remaining snow away if there is any left now that is.

Weather maps looking really good for welcoming back some very cold weather from monday with snow fronts regually all next week though until next sunday.. We will see some Ra*n on sunday though it will be cold so hopefully falling as fat cold rain / sleet... The aprentice snowmaker will earn his kanga next week and should be able to make a shite load of snow hopefully with -6 -8 temps on tuesday and wednesday to get the beginners runs up and going ,,, ! If all goes well we should be back operating in another week fingers crossed !

Will Ben Lomond get enough snow to open their lifts and start the bus service from Launceston? I'm taking my Dad to Launceston on the 20th and want to break my 5 year skiing drought with a day at BL.

This week through until Wednesday should be cold to very cold with mostly below 0 temps on the mountain. Snow falls should continue on an off until Wednesday evening.

From Thursday Morning it looks like there should be a high situated over the mountain and the winds should ease substantially and it will be great skiing conditions and below freezing for the remainder of the week and weekend. The next system should hit on Monday and Tuesday with some prefrontal rain and then snow from the Northwest-West. the following week a second front will also cross later in the week, Wednesday Night into Thursday and Friday intensifying with more significant snowfalls.

Long range the Friday and Saturday 22-23 July after the low has passed over the state the back end, South East system developing could throw a significant Dump onto the Ben. This, though it is a long way off looks like an amazing system to really get the mountain coated in a thick and solid layer of snow for the season ahead. (On top of what we already have got.)

Phew... Thought that was going to be a disaster. The weather zone BOM model is looking pretty unstable at the moment with the next serious chance of snow showing up on the USA Model on Thursday 28th and Friday 29th July... Hope it comes off without too much pre frontal.

Could get a bit mid next week if the system strengthens.

Watching the cam playback, it seems that after the loss in the past couple of days, the bare spots are getting filled again! Hopefully this continues for teh rest of the week and means a good weekend!

Hopefully the coming fronts strengthen a bit,

Its looking interesting late this week, but we shall see.

The Base is nice and solid so it should hold up to quite a bit before it suffers too badly.

Should be interesting to see how much snow will fall this week.

Looking like rising temp with N/W wetness over the next four or five days and marginal temps for snoe.. Will lose some snow thats for sure but still a chance of snow at night as it cools particually on saturday night.. Hopefully some decent snow mid next week and the slopes hold up until then !

Looks like rain till thursday then a huge dump of snow next weekend. We will need it as they will loose lots of snow with these humid and mild temps.

Looks like it might finally start to cool down tommorrow night after 10 days nearly of warm weather with 7.3 degs on the Ben at just after 6am this morning. Hopefully snow will fall late tommorrow and then for the next 3 days on the Ben. Amount v difficult to estimate but hopefully a lot as we have been severely punished up their this week!.. Still it think we will still get to ski again on this odd snow season !

Snow has started and hopefully should be cold enough for snow for at least the next 24 hours... The main moisture hasn,t hit the Ben yet with the Bom forcasting heavy rain- storms , flood warnings for the north east as well as snow above 1300m we could get some heavy snow later today.. There is easterly/ south easterly weather all week but is it cold enough for continuing snow ?? we will have to wait & see ... Nice to see the cam took (1) pick yesterday..hopfully it functions again today

It doesn't seem like the CSIRO weather station on the Ben does all that well in snowfall - it only recorded a couple of mm of precipitation today. However, the East Coast and upper South Esk stations recorded up to 60mm, all while the temp up top of the mountain was below zero. Should mean some good falls if that moisture penetrated that far in from the coast. Here's hoping!

Yes we have had 10 cm of wet snow settle on the hill ( the good stuff blew through into
the valley) still snowing steadily this morning, plenty of moisture left in this system
but their is a risk it may warm up a bit as it moves on. We desperately need it to
chill down and firm up as we virtually had nil base left when it started on Saturday
night.
