Thinking about heading up this Wednesday, any ideas on how the mountain is and lifts operational due to snow amount, wind condition etc.?

Will the bus company start taking people from Launceston when the lifts start, or do they wait until lifts have been open for some time?

Suggest you contact the coach company direct.(details below)
They Dont communicate with the operators on the mountain and are very vague in their committment.
The BLC are actively pursueing an alternative operator as the unreliability is seriously affecting the viability of on-mountain comercial operations and clubs.

As for tomorrow the wind is expected to drop to around 25 knots and ease through the day.
AE are anticipating up to 4 lifts.

Thanks. I contacted them about 2 weeks ago and they were very vague, like they didn't know what they were expecting to charge this year or anything. They told me to get back to them when the lifts start running.

I hope they are running, I'd like to go to BL when I'm down there.

Bass, Village and Summit. Weather isn't set to moderate so it's unlikely there will be more operating before the weekend.

Today we had Bass, Village and Summit running with bills going for the last hour as available staff were working on Big Ben after major damage due to ice. Tomorrow should be all four and we hope to start work on Fannys and Giblin all things going to plan

Hey guys talk about a fantastic start to the season, but what a bummer for me as I broke my fibula at Hotham aweek ago. Slipped on the road while heading to the Big D for a cruisy start to a ski trip. Fawwek, not fair, (I managed 1 run slowly, painful and not too much control) before giving up and going to the medical centre to confirm the bad news. So thats my ski season over before it even started, unless there is still snow in mid + September. Bugger. Hope you all get to enjoy plenty of ski action this year. Oh well, there is always next year to look forward to.

The groomer is definitely a hit i'd say keeping the snow in much better condition! Money well spent!!

Great day up there Saturday, the mountain seemed busier than it has been for a while!

Agreed. The grooming, especially over the back made the morning conditions fantastic. Was a great move and I hope it can be maintained throughout the season as it made a good day great!

I apologise for the fact that after uploading this mornings report that it still indicated a lift (summit) as open, I understand that this may have confused some people; as it did say elsewhere at no less than 3 points that there were zero lifts operating; leading to some abusive phone calls to people on the mountain. This online service is serviced by volunteers and not as a paid service by mountain operators.
In fact, at times it proves very difficult to extract the info from the mountain operators to disseminate through this and other channels.

An all round good weekend on the mountain, thanks to the gang running the show: Erryl, Nell, Cuddles (Adrian), Barry (Top Bloke), Josh, Nathan, 1080, Kateland, Alice, Jane, Tristian, Jack and Stummo. Also a big welcome to the new member of the team Luke who is teaming up with Cuddles to get the snow making and grooming going in the coming weeks. Luke has spent 3 years in Charlotte's Pass working on the mountain with Snow Making, Grooming and Lift running [IMG]

A big congratulations to Luke and Cuddles for making the first snow in history on the mountain last night. Pumping out the white stuff for 6 hrs they filled the ski school area with some quite amazing quality snow. [IMG]

Ques were also very short on the weekend so get up there while it lasts and score some value for money skiing, pretty much ski down and get on the lift [IMG]

Today was day 9 on the slopes. Enjoyed each and every one of them.

    Cheers,

Wasn't quite the first snow... like to think I was there for that one! But definitely the first good quality (by the photos and talking to Cuddles...), awesome work guys! Hope its cold enough and not windy when I'm back for my fleeting August visit to see it in action.

Thanks for the photos too, looks like it was an amazing weekend!

    It has snowed!!!!

Following the continuing thaw of the last fortnight, AE are unable to maintain lift tracks.Fresh Snow has fallen overnight, but we still need a lot more for operations to resume. It is suggested that intending visitors phone ahead to confirm current status

Heavy Rain this morning has trashed the 15cm cover we had received over the last 3 days
There will be no lifts running until further falls
