Waimea is only two turns before you hit the flat .... needs to be eleventy billion times longer

    I said nah mate I don't do gates ,
his answer (in heavy Austrian accent)
    "Not yet you don't"
"it will make you technically a much better skier in the back country too - you know that !"

So note to self ....beware the Captain offering me beers later in the evenings !

See quite a few of the classes on Bloody Mary too.
    Nice and straight.
Again gets a bit of speed up there too when you really let them do their thing...

    Sorry guys been away ,

Pleasant valley and roller Coaster are an easy run for sweeping turns but you must build speed up top first, I like Accelerator and Zali's , Rock Garden, Early morning Goats Gully is good for some smooth fast turns, Surprisingly enough Happy Valley isn't bad either , The Euro style carve as shown in the Opus vids with Jacques and Patrice who I personally met in Aspen some years ago at the Summit Expression sessions put on by Bomber Industries , doesn't realy suit Aussie conditions but the Swing through method does. I generally follow a similar style to regular board riding but get more over on the edge due to the hard boots. You are so much more connected to the board the control (once you get used to the much more forward stance) is astounding. On Accelerator if conditions are good I often do anything as little as 5-8 turns or even less, because once you have speed you just lay out like a GP rider and allow the board to turn with almost no sideways sliding.
One of the things you need to remember is we in Australia simply do not get the continuous below 0 and as such we rarely see the beaut packed powder shown in most of the Vids on line, where laying out on the snow is possible and still have good edge control.

You can try Hard boot style with a regular board but it will take a lot of getting used to and then it will click, kind of like a Downhill Skateboarder the forward stance allow you better visibility and directivity flexing the hips and knees left and right allowing the side cut of your board to dictate the turn rather than mushing sideways.

This might be of interest to many

To be fair, none of the runs mentioned would be much good without a bit of snow ;)
