Hey last time I went to baw baw we took the tourist Rd and the kids hated it.
I was thinking of taking costings then Rowley's Ridge this time. Is that the best route? Will it be passable after all this rain? I have a 4wd with ATs but can't self recover. I'm aware there's no snow now but that's not the purpose of the visit.
Thanks

If your destination is Mount Baw Baw not Tanji Bren, I recommend taking the South Face road from Erica. it doesn't show an option on google maps because its longer, but it can often be faster cos its not as bendy

As advised above, Sth Face Rd from Rawson via Erica is much less curvy and so more user friendly for many. However, it is an unmade dirt and gravel road. It can be blocked by falling trees after storms although bb staff do use the road and do try to keep it open. I personally would not go that way at the moment and would take a chain saw if I did. Go carefully.

I would take the tourist road to Tanjil Bren, otherwise you will have to backtrack from the BB turn off. But your call. Road should be clear by tomorrow.
