The Garmin devices are expensive but I have been finding my Inreach Explorer to be a very reliable device with great battery life. If I was buying again I would probably get the mini version as I have found that I mostly operate it from my smartphone rather than from the screen on the Explorer. My only real gripe is that the Australian topo maps on it are not as detailed as I would like.
