Big cold outbreak for UK and snow in the Alps

    This week coming (19th March onwards) will see a fairly severe cold northerly outbreak over the UK and western Europe with fairly widespread snow to low levels.

    Looks like about 40-70cm of snow for many places.

    Following chart is precipitation accumulation up to 144hrs.


    850mb (5000ft/1500m) temps for the next week or so.


    Looks like pretty widespread temperatures of -10C or lower at 1500m which is not bad for late March.
