Ah ha, you've progressed from walking backwards down the hill to endless garlands!
luckily we hippy telemarkers self medicate
@Untele-whippet see this is what happens to people who lock-in, jam a whippet up there, well you know!
so uptight, no freedom
Downright mandatory on some group ski trips I recall!
Two telemarkers and a whippet!
Sometimes the brutal truth hurts...
No 4 states if you are downhill then look uphill before you start.
To me, common sense says exactly the same thing.
No. two states the uphill skier has to avoid the slower one you are approaching.
that’s common sense too as the slower one cant necessarily see what’s behind them.
Rules and common sense need to work together to be effective.
In your eamole re the pedestrian, I’d suggest those who get run over may have not used enough common sense
what did that poor telemarketing do to you to threaten him with your whippet!
Wear a RoundUp cap? Causes cancer according to some social media commentary (completely unjustified according to others!)
This reminds me of someone!
Just for the hell of it.
This is the one in the manual and e-learning for NZ.
As you can see, different places, different codes. But being a decent human being transcends them all.
Yes, NZ, different places, different codes!!!
He’s taking his wife for a ski
He ain't shearing that ewe.
I'm still struggling with how you could "bludgeon" someone with an alloy ski pole, let along a carbon pole.
Sure it'd hurt a bit but ffs nothing you couldn't defend. Particularly in ski gear. Sure we don't know the complete facts, apart from the snowboarder doing what comes naturally but it does beg the question, what kind of powder puff was the skier.
Much ado about nothing.
Further questions need to be ask, there is no suggestion the man was with family so the obvious question is what were his mates doing whilst he is being bludgeoned.
i thought the same, but if the cage happened to hit your temple it could do some serios damage. Similar if the tip was pushed in
What? Teaching the poncey skier to harden up and stop being a little biatch?
Nope not biting. Have a nice day.
Possibly encouraging the most likely drugged out snowboarder onto greater and greater feats of bludgeoning!
Seriously, I thought the same... “bludgeon with a ski pole”. Sometimes I feel like bludgeoning clients with my plastic ruler.
I reckon if you held a ski pole at the basket end and used the handle end as the bludgeoning lump, you could inflict serious injury to a non-helmeted annoying entity, particularly if you deliver multiple, well targeted blows.
Save the pointed end for the coup de grace.........
then the headline would read
SNOWBOARDER BLUDGEONS CUSTOMER WITH PLASTIC RULER
Wrong thread, but I like it!
nah that headline would read US bludgeon the world with Donald Trump!
Interesting a lot of people are assuming the snowboarder was drugged, but I see a self entitled middle age man trying to prove his macho youth by getting in the face of the snowboarder who probably got a touch close, maybe bumper shoulders as he passed. Picked the wrong bloke to threaten with a stock and the snow boarder took the stock and tried to perform the knighthood ceremony (clearly the skier felt they should be knighted) but unfortunately performed it with a little too much gusto.
You seem to know too much about this. Any bodies buried out near Eyre???
I blame the pros.
Given the outcome, methinks that’s a very generous assessmemt.
He is on drugs or has serious mental issues if he manages to bludgeon anyone to within an inch of their life, and even more so if it was with a ski pole
that assumes the reporting isn’t sensationalistic!
now why would you go and assume something like that?
Maybe the great spaghetti monster made him do it!?
maybe because other reports suggest he was only hit two or three times and is already released from hospital and back in England....
sounds like a bit of blood, maybe a decent cut end of story.
I think it was patently obvious the story was over sensationalised when the term Bludgeon was associated with a ski pole.
something about truth getting in the way of a good story?
Crazy figglers on ice!
makes a pot headed snowboarder look conservative!
It’d wanna be a whippet pole to deserve that term. But really, any violence, with a weapon or without, is totally unnecessary.
People need to chill.
There is very little information about the actual incident except from the injured skiers pov, but I’d suggest if he himself hadn’t decided it was a good idea to confront the snowboarder that the whole thing may have been a non event.
Calm your own farm and less nasty stuff is likely to happen. Not that I’m excusing the reaction of the snowboarder, mind you.
I didn't think @TC or @DbSki were involved?
what shit is this
I think the reporter misquoted, the snowboader was bludging
For the Austrians, that's just a bit of sluff.
Ski Sloff . Do not antagonise .
The should have "Snowboard free" zones, even whole mountains. I have noticed how much "damage" new boarders do to steep slopes with their side slipping. They are like a traditional wood gouge.
You can always go to Alta if you want to have a sook - snowboarders aren't the ones with a stance/position called "snowplough"
Or we could just ask people to ski or snowboard within their ability. Have had just as many problems with skiers out of control.
No, they have sitting position in the middle of any run.
love a breach of the alpine code #6 !
