Did it come off a roof rack? Or fall out of your pocket?

Guy said he found on the road by the bushes... but I don't know exactly the spot. He said no major damage on top but the bottom might need some work. I haven't seen it yet so I can't give you a proper answer...

Did it come off a roofrack?

There’s a large amount if force/lift under a board when travelling at 100kph

It came off my spare tyre rack... The thing is my rack is located at the back of the car with just the snowboard tail poping out a bit over the roof. However what is interesting is that the bottom clamp is the one that failed and the board slipped off. I locked it down but I have no idea how it opened since there is no sign of anything broken...
