Have a look at Diamond Ichinose.
Has private bathroom and breakfast, cheaper than Villa Ichinose for one person.

Shiga Park Hotel is at Takamagahara. To Okushigakogen, you need to catch 4 or 5 lifts. From Ichinose, it 3-4 lifts. Only one lift extra, but it would take 12-15 min longer

It's just about right next to Villa Ichinose

Regarding the timing, you have to ask yourself what you want.
If you go mid Feb into March, then the likelyhood of powder decreases, by maybe half, while the chance of rain increases.
I know I'd prefer to face the CNY crowds, knowing that they don't ride powder anyway (and they displace a lot of Aussies who do ride powder, so there's less Aussie competing for powder)

Wow, good to know. Cheaper than 7,500 Yen with breakfast for a single.
Where do you get that deal from?

Yes agreed Sandy, shame budget is pretty tight - will come up with something.

Powder hounds and Villa I expected to get back during week. (;-)
