Look at these vivid Autumn colours! Aren't they magnificent! I had to post these pics because the colours are stunning. I'm looking around outside in awe at the brilliant Autumn tones - burnished gold, flame, vermilion, and every shade inbetween.

Surrounded by such brilliant Autumn hues makes me skip with joy, :emoji_cartwheel:
It restores my faith in humankind, and makes me realise our planet is actually a marvellous and wondrous world, filled with phenomenal beauty after all. :emoji_maple_leaf:

It makes me want to burst out loud with resplendent song!

    :emoji_musical_score: :emoji_microphone:
    I see trees of green
    Red russet too
    I see them bloom
    For me and you
    And I think to myself,
    What a wonderful wor. . .

    Oh who the hell am I kidding - all it makes me want to do is shake the damn leaves off the trees and think to myself;

Get a freakin' move on, Winter . . . :blb:

    :emoji_musical_score: :emoji_microphone:
I see a red tree and I want it painted white
No colours anymore, I want them to turn white
I see the trees grow high dressed in their Autumn clothes
I have to turn my head until frosts nip my nose
    :emoji_snowflake: :emoji_snowman2:

For a minute there I thought you'd been in my yard!
I'd post my own pics, but they'd look exactly the same.

I figured my backyard was closer. And rather timely with the pics - if your backyard is anything like mine after the weekend storms, the garden wouldn't have nearly as much colour now. Oh how I love it when Mother Nature takes heed of my demands.

    Seriously?!

@wolly, that's not a very nice thing to say!

    The worst?!
    Ever?!

    How deeply you wound me.

I'll have you know I go to alot of trouble to come up with such nonsense, and I'm sure that this one wasn't the best worst nonsense I've ever written!

Not a 'new' run. Naming the extension at the bottom of Wombat. Jane's great for the snow industry. Should be a bit of fun.

I'm planning an overnight stay at buller and trying to work out the logistics of snow taxis and parking.. is the overnight parking the same location as the day parking? I'm travelling with my wife and 2 kids, we will only have 2 bags and my gear so hoping either my wife or myself and one of the kids could snow taxi and the other 2 take normal day bus? Will this work?

Different car parks. Day parking is at Horse Hill, overnight is usually CSIR, but can be almost anywhere else depending on numbers.

If you're in CSIR it's easy - one in the taxi with the bags, the rest walk up or grab the free bus from Skating Rink.

If they park you well down the road, y'all paying.

He's there most days. Even if you hadn't seen him ski, you'd just know he can rock that non-standard issue gear. If I could ski bumps half as well as that dude, I'd be bl:thumbs::thumbs:dy brilliant!

Personally I love it. Historical artifact. Like the Village bottom station. Ever been to an old gold mining town? Great to see some of the old relics which show the history of the land use.

    I miss Playground Poma.

The air we used to be able to pull on self load - almost detaching the cable, drove the lifties crazy.

So is it the poma or t-bar load that's below the current Bull Run load, cos it looks like a poma loading station and it's in the right spot for it.

I also miss the Summit Access poma and being dragged sideways at 10 m/s in zero vis and a roaring gale.

    The Poma.
The SV Poma followed much the same line as the new Bull Run Chair.

The Bull Run Tbar alignment was down the centre tree line, riding up it Wood run was on the right to the other side of the trees and Funnel on the left, so skiing down the funnel you skied past people on the Tbar to your left.
After they removed the Tbar the Funnel was widened, it used to be narrower accounting for the Tbar lift line.

At this stage I will be in the Mansfield area for Grand Final weekend. Thinking a day trip up to Buller on GF Day itself - would I be right in assuming the big game will see fewer people on the mountain? Would I be lucky enough to get a discount on a lift pass, or is that unlikely with the sheer amount of snow that has fallen this month?

So what's everyone's New Year Resolutions?

Mine is that I refuse to do 80km/h any longer between Yea and Molesworth. Eighty-shmeighty I say!

I don't need no steenkin 80 rules slowing me down on my way to Buller, baby! I got the need for speed. So I'm totally over it.

So I'm putting my foot down - literally - and I'm gonna do 100 again there.

Every time! I don't even care if the police are sitting there watching and waiting. I'll roar straight passed them doing 100. With the window down, hair blowin' in the frosty breezes, and I'll thumb my nose at them while blowing a big fat raspberry!

Woo-hoo, go girl, you little rebel, miss_b, you!!

    Huh?!

    Wassat you say?!

What - the speed limit has just returned to 100km/h in that section now anyway?!
Well damn! I'm gonna have to come up with some other NY Resolution now!

    ;)

    :D

    Maybe

Last season when I drove past those gantries I said why the frig would they build a gantry to tell you there is a new speed limit.
What's it gunna say next year. "Fairly new speed limit"
And 2019 ?, just "Have a nice day"
    I don't think so.
They didn't just put them there to do that or for TAC spam.
That leaves a more logical and unfortunate purpose for them which is to advise of the seasonal limits in place, and in Winter, that'll be 80 k, and not just weekends.

as soon as the queens birthday weekend arrives the sign wil say.. bad luck suckers. back to 80kmh !

The wire ropes have ruined the best overtaking spot on the whole road. I used to get 10+ cars in a stretch while they were all tailgating each other preparing to speed up for the Cotton's Pinch overtaking lane.

Gotta love the Aussie tradition of the one driver sitting 3km/h below the limit for almost forever, to then plant the foot and go as fast as possible the minute an overtaking lane appears
