Jindy council have just released a statement saying no camping in Jindy and this includes the clay pits.

they are stating Covid as the reason.

It looked like a sardine tin last week!
    Jam packed.
    Blatant disregard of the rules.

Our cul-de-sac in Jindy is loaded with campervans. So many with Victorian and Qld number plates!

Probably mostly unroadworthy, I think you can still get your rego posted in those states (ACT also).

and there in lies the problem.

I agree there needs to be free camping - but they truly brought this on themselves.

Has this overnighting in Jindabyne been legal, or have the authorities turned a blind eye to it?

Blind eye, until now. There are a lot of unemployed people travelling around the countryside in these vans. We are going to take extra protection with our property from now on, plans in motion with Body Corporate. With potential NSW lockdowns possible, we do not want theft nor squatters into 2021!!!

They have already scaled our 6ft wall into our courtyard and stolen our complete hose system and fittings. The outdoor furniture is now going into the garage from now on. The bbq will stay in place. Fkers! :headbang: 13 years and no problems, until 2020.

we stayed at diggings on saturday night due to being scared of getting stuck at ngarigo. So quiet... Was a bit spooky as to how empty it was in comparison to saturday nights last year.

haha, this is most likely. $6 to book the park is way too expensive.

Actually in fairness the nat parks were probably all booked out by people who didn't turn up.

Either crown land or private property. There have been some big urban rigs in there over the winter, full +100k setups.

I've been involved in quite a bit of construction work with a big HD dealer in Radelaide. The vast bulk of HD purchasers were office wallies for one sort or another. A significant number are the purchasers were also in that group known as boomers. We had several discussions as to when there would be a flood of cheap 2nd hand HDs on the market as their owners became too old and infirm to use them.

The new definition of doing it tough is not having any money left to eat after you've made payments on your 2 million dollar home, 100K caravan, 100K land cruiser, smart phone plan, internet entertainment subsubcriptions etc..
