Chains are great, easy to fit and grip like shit to a blanket. Careful of getting them tangled. A mate and I were driving to Island Bend one night, came past Wilson's Valley. It's almost 2:00am, snowing quite heavily, snow on road. There's a car in the middle of the road - three people in it - chain wrapped to axle - 'do you need any help?' anyway, dropped them at Sponars, left one of them in the car (!!), didn't want us to wait at Sponars. Fk knows how they got moving!
Thought you had a van? Speaking of vans, someone parked theirs right in front of the cop shop last night. We assumed it was to stir them up. Bet it worked too.
I saw a perfectly reasonable basic one br flat for 12mth lease available at a local estate agent. Quite affordable too at $550p/w. The 400 people on the waiting list for housing trust placements in the snowies are just poor tight arses and need to be run out of town by council. They just take up space that could be better utilised by cashed up tourists. Poor people need to stop hurting the local economy and leave. I find it a bit of a conflict of interest that ABC have been reporting that the region has a severe public housing shortage and someone on the board of community housing in Cooma is also the same person in council trying to run everyone out of jindy. I warned you all about this redneck farmer not long ago.
The community housing funding for the snowies goes to cooma. The community dental funding for the snowies goes exclusively to cooma residents. Have first hand witnessed the dentist abusing a jindabyne patient for not going private because everyone in jindy is rich and should pay so they can keep the limited funding for cooma residents only. Every little bs rd in cooma gets footpaths. Jindy gets none. Everyone here knows cooma hospital is for cooma residents only so most people consider it a waste of time and drive straight to canberra Cooma residents are a pretty massive burden on regional funding being misappropriated for their exclusive use. Now jindabyne is run by cooma council, they are pretty excited to be able to funnel jindy rates to cooma services. Jindy should nuke cooma. They're parasites.
I'm 6ft and a 4ft space is heaps as long as you can periodically stretch out. I tend to sleep curled up, so can make do with tiny spaces as long as I can stretch legs on each rollover. Doing nights for decades gives you an amazing ability to sleep anywhere, anytime. Have been woken up standing in a lift queue leaning on the fence poles. And doorways. Even mastered sleeping across the handbrake in the front when too tired or car too full of hobby toys and raining.
Lucky you. Sleep is often my nemesis. Was surprised that I got an ok sleep in the car a few weeks back.
I get insomnia too. Wearing myself out excercising is my cure. If I don't burn all my nervous energy each day, my mind burns it all night.
. My cousins probation counstable daughter has been reposted fro Metro Sydney to somewhere in the Victorian boarder To keep the uncleen out, dont know the accomadation details.
It may be a rumour(but isn't), but nsw police save special postings like snow season for the newbies that annoy their lac. We get the cops that even the cops don't want around. Pursuit cars are different. They operate out of queanbeyan. They're pretty cool and fair. If she gets to return to her original posting after this deployment, then they like her. If they move her to another lac after this posting, then her initial lac used the special posting to get her out of their hair. It's not nice, or right, or an honest upfront way you would expect law enforcement to treat their own, but it's what they do. There is generally no sinister motive, it's just no one wants to be the bad guy and have the hard chat with them, so they move them on surreptitiously. I don't even know what surreptitiously means so i'm just gonna use it and hope like hell it's right. Like titanal. The hard chat isn't even that hard. It's basically, life isn't black and white. It's an infinite number of shades of grey. Stop rocking the boat with your black and white bs. Not saying this is your relatives case, but it might be.
You don’t cover the windows? I got some window reflectors for mine. Makes it quite cosy but a bit of effort.
Snagged a spot at diggings it was like hitting warp speed in the falcon once you got over the first rise on alpine way. Plenty of snow on the ground coming in. tomorrow is going to be
Once you get jaded, snow at the campgrounds is annoying. Enjoy the path to jadedness for it is lined with magical moments.
Peaceful again overnight at island bend. Fair bit of ground roped off for rejuvenation at the moment, snow from last week has all melded . Cooked up some hamburgers for dinner which transformed me into the pide piper of possums . Sneaky little guys are always lurking for scraps.
I think I might start stalking you guys to get these amazing camp food delights. ngarigo was quiet and peaceful this weekend. There was one impressive camper rig there last night. Looked like it was built on a MB unimog it was a beast. I notice the jindy blacklisted campsite still has a number of vans in it I’m guessing they aren’t policing the new bans too stringently
I went soft this weekend and had a room at the station, still called down and had a beer with the island benders.
Island bend seemed a lot busier this weekend. We couldn’t get any of our favourite 3 spots on Friday afternoon.
looked to be around 10-15 going past Friday night then again this morning. Similar numbers last weekend when I drove past. There was a fire twirler there when we drove past on Friday night.
I was at Island bend. My friends parked in Jindy were forced to drive their cars while drunk. Seems a bit stupid.
Next year I will make you a Vanacinno with a teaspoon. I promise, it will be good, you will like! Till next season
