Thats a tragedy. Would explain why they used all of the adrenaline on the plane (6 ampules) and didn't do diddly.
Surprising he got on the plane- its odd for meningitis to arrest early in the piece without some pretty severe preceding symptoms.
My mate is a very experienced anaesthetist/ICU consultant and there's not much he hasn't seen or done. For him to be unable to dig someone out of a hole is unusual without some significant mitigating factors.
Its never pleasant calling an end to resuscitation on anyone, let alone a 38 y.o young father.

It is very tragic. He was on the inbound flight to Brisbane that was diverted to Honolulu when he collapsed (necessitating the cancellation of the Brisbane - Vancouver flight I was booked on). Meningitis! Terrible.

Managed to get +1 down a few black runs today and she smashed those moguls with ease.
Must say that the views are outstanding and well worth some happy snaps.
Leaving happy little campers and now heading for Sun Peaks.

It's a nice drive and Revy is a nice town. Catch a ride up the mountain if you have time

basically a place people can post positive reviews only of accommodation options they have stayed in, what made it work etc. Just for Canada and maybe the opening post could include some of the booking options?

Pine Inn not recommended, old school hotel rooms, not even a fridge in the room. Good location if you like being on top of a pub, but grungy and tired.

Haven't been back for many years but I would look at only upper village.

We stayed at Tamarack. Upper village in excellent location. Probably 50m from main lift. Also very close to the hot pools. Got a pretty good deal through Travelplan.

Tamarack and Inn of 1000 both good locations, condo style places with decent facilities. I've cooked some pretty good meals in those kitchens. If you have kids, they will go nuts for the hot pools and water slides.

Hot pools were excellent after a day of skiing. Water slides not open when we were there. Not sure if summer thing only or repairs happening??

We are thinking of the place next door the newer Peaks Lodge.

This trip we are going to fly into Calgary with the first stop being Fernie for a night so we can check it out, then Panorama for 4 nights followed by a week in Banff.

You can go night skiing with him even when the resort doesn't offer it. His jackets are so bright you won't need any other lights

Stayed at panorama springs last year. Pretty comfortable, great ski in ski out and hot springs on site. Highly recommended.
We arranged through travelplan.

We've stayed down in Riverbend in the lower village and it's great. Really beautiful spot down along the river.

"Lower village" is not a big deal at all unless a 1 minute walk is too strenuous for you. The mini gondola takes you right there.

I think we must have been skiing at a different Lake Louise. Didn't think it was icy. Firm underneath 2-3 cms of fresh. Backside off Latch chair was nice railing on the groomed. Front side off paradise chair also nice. Snow binding well to surface. In the last 2 weeks have not found anything at LL, Sunshine or Norquay that I would consider Oz icy. Hard packed yes. Icy no. Have always been able to lay and hold an edge.

The groomed runs were ok, some of the ungroomed blacks were 2-3 on top of boiler plate imo, very average.

We're still scoping out the big 3. Here for 5 months. Likely to be skiing resorts through to may, later back country.

There definitely be ice at LL, still in place a few cm down on the WC track. Have a look at Upper Wiwaxy. All green and blue terrain but unbelievably slick during the race weeks, takes everything I've got to stay upright just slipping the course down to timing positions. Doesn't help that most years these are my first turns of the season, without poles and weighted down with equipment as well. And in the dark, headlamp skiing for the first hour of the day.
