    Hi Guys,

Me and few fellow chefs would like to leave the hot kitchen
for some Cold Snow crusing in the coming weekends.
If we go to Perisher by SkiTube train,
and we only drive from Jindabyne to SkiTube do we have to hire Chain?

    Thank you.
    MC

No you don't "have" to, as in it's not a requirement. But if there's snow/ice on the roads you will need them. Check conditions on the day. Snow FM have road reports every 15 mins and the RMS live traffic website will advise if required.

The main areas of concern are the hill at the turnoff just outside of Jindy and Penderlea Hill in both directions.

It was close to needing them on the hill near Penderlea on Sunday night as I was leaving. Be aware if you don't have them, park at the tube and get snowed in, you're likely to have to pay quite a bit to hire a set so you can get out again. It's not often that you will need them there, check the forecast beforehand.

Chains are a simple $40 insurance policy.

knowing how to use them as well.
The amount of times i've walked up to the servo for milk or something early morning and seeing some blearly eyed peeps in a 2wd staring blankly at someone disinterestedly explaining the chains is in the 000's
