From my Dad's place at Edith near Oberon at about 1200m. Looks to be about 15-20cm

A crisp, clear morning, weather back to "August normal" today. OH will probably reach 20 degrees again unless cloud moves in.

Meanwhile, is that snow on the Oberon Plateau? Visible satellite view of Central / Eastern NSW about 8:30 this morning:

Yeah certainly would be snow, because the state forests in that area can still be seen. Otherwise they'd be covered if it was fog.

Also a beautiful crisp morning here as well. Although the cloud is trying to develop, hopefully it won't become too cloudy later on.

Burrendong at 93% at 9am this morning. Wyangala all but full as is Burrinjuck and Blowering. Hume over 90%, Dart at 73%. Copeton around 75%, Menindee 82%. Keepit full. Even SPlit Rock is at 40%.

That be lots of stored water. And lots of natural flow below the storages. So the environment is winning as are those who can put the excess water to productive use in the next 2-3 years. Can't hear anyone whinging about poor management of the rivers at the moment - what a surprise. Shows that the system works well when we get favourable conditions.

Will it be there by sunset? It's gone from the circled cam views.

This event is just what the doctor ordered for here, unlucky though for Illawarra and Shellharbour. 62mms for the event taking us to 65.6mms for the month going above the average of 49.6mms.

Great amount of moisture to get some green into the grass and make it way easier to weed.

the event for me was a decent one where i live near the sydney CBD had a one or two wind gusts estimated at 70-90kmph and moderate not "heavy" rain. the radar really over estimated the intensity of the rainfall IMO the big blob of red IMO was not heavear than 10 mm per hour rain rate in the CBD. might of been slightly heavier at little bay

its funny how sometimes the radar can show nimbostratus rain as red to dark red but in reality you'll only see light to borderline moderate rain. however sometimes the radar can show blue to little spots of yellow and the rain can be over 50mm per hour.

Opposite for me.
Need to do some digging. The wet ground makes for much heavier going. Almost not worth the effort.

And there's 5 million of them cooped up at your doorstep, anxiuous to get out via GWH. And, ahem, watching the transient low that wasn't an ECL slowly fill with pressure up to 1001hPa - to keep mods at bay. LOL

Hey Steve, where did you get this satellite image from, is that on the BOM site?

I took a screenshot from Weatherzone “Layers” (the Day/Night view). It is under the “Radar and Maps” tab but think that this is only available to subscribers. Non-subscribers can still get a statewide satellite view (Visible true colour).
