there isn’t a map of Perisher in this comparison
Definitely needs overlaid maps
or maybe ‘if perisher is prune, st anton is a peach’ sort of thing
Patience is the virtue you need to view the GIFs.
Working from v.slow mobile net the gifs weren’t running at first.
but I sees it now - very nice
Just don't try comparing the vertical.
My thoughts exactly, or total slope area.
Initially wanted to do a Google Earth topographical comparison but my laptop doesn't have web gl or something, which is required for Google Earth.
Got Google Earth to work in MS Edge. It's a bit hard to create two similarly sized maps in 3D as I don't know how to read coordinates or figure out distance and angles to know if 2 screenshots are like for like. I just measured the distance between peak of Mt.P and Smiggins parking lot, which is about 4200 metres and did a similar distance between Bozel and Courchevel-La Tania in Les Trois Vallees, which is 4100 metres distance for relative comparison (the yellow lines).
Looks like we can match the size of the world's larges ski resort by expanding the lift system all the way to Mt Koszi. It still won't match the verticals though.
Les Trois Vallees - world's largest ski resort
@VSG did a bit of procreating i see.
comparisons employing fruit are very fruitful useful
Chairlifts are better when they go up instead of forwards
I'm gonna charge harder knowing what I'm skiing is just a short, gentle slope compared to Europe or the US.
Thredbo to Guthega is ~ 25
i once looked at Thredbo to Guthega against Chamonix to around the Hellbronner base. About the same distance. Slightly different topographic complexity.
