Hey all, I want to demo some skis this weekend at or on the way to falls, for my wife. Looking for Volkl Aura's or Blizzard Black Pearls in 150-160 any one know of any hire places that will have these skis?
They stock blizzard but maybe its just their base rental ski cos i can't see any demo models. Could be worth an email though.
Central Snowsports do stock a wide range of Volkl skis. I do believe they have some stock for demo as well.
A bit of a thread mine, but on topic. I'm hoping to try a pair of K2 Mindbender 90ti for a day or two next month when I'm in Falls. There seem to be a number of shops with demo skis available, but their websites are a bit short on detail. Can any of the Falls crew suggest which shop would be most likely to have them?
central snowsports certainly used to do K2. Email and ask about the specific model/size. Kiewa valley snowsports in mt beauty has a very good range of demos. DPS is their main retail brand but they have (or used to) quite a few other demos too. Can't recall if there were any K2s but might be worth asking if central can't help.
@Marty_McSly Demo Day @ Perisher 20-21st July https://www.perisher.com.au/sia-epic-australia-pass-demo-days
Some good suggestions there, thanks all for the feedback. I'm specifically after the Mindbenders as they've had a really good rap as an all-round ski for Australian inbounds conditions, from @CarveMan among others. They've also had a lot of love on Pugski, but I sense maybe a little parochialism there. I'm wanting to A/B them with a pair of Enforcer 93's to see which suit me best.
KVS demos...... some DPS, heaps of Volkl, Blackcrows and Rossignol. Not sure how many demos they have but the Lift Co's new store in the Bowl, Ski and Boot Co, is retailing heaps of ski brands.
good to hear. lift co shops used to be hopeless for demo/buy skis. It's a long time since I've even tried. Hopefully a good range and staff who know and care what they talking about will make it a good alternative.
Many thanks for that Curra. Made a quick call to them and they have them in all sizes bar the 184. I'd been undecided between the 177 and 184, so I guess that's now sorted.
