Waiting for Astro
Can't wait for Vladimir and Estragon to turn up!
you're not coping well with being left at home alone are you Charlie
Does it show?
I saw Gandalf and Captain Picard do that on Broadway in February. At least Sir Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart.
Not as much fun being depraved on your own.
Pfft,. What about Bruton and Bora?
Would love too. Every time I produce an out of left field hypothesis. Thread is locked rather than removing the attack on me. I look like a douche for getting another thread locked.
Not my sandbox. C'est La Vie.
If you look like one, (in your words) and act like one, what's the surprise?
None. But using that talent to get threads locked is a waste.
Ummmmm, I'm sayin' nuttin'
Is this boring old thread still going?

And g) would be the most important point.
Don't see any reason they should be banned from the Omeo side to carparks east of Big D.
That is all. Common sense
I wonder which so called "experts" they have consulted. Clearly not the importer/distributor of the most widely used chain in the country. RMB are morons.
No diamond pattern chain is in contact with the road at all times. There are 2 gaps - one of them at the base of the wheel where your fit the chain, and the other directly opposite.
Have to agree with Plowking. It's not such a boring thread if you paid out $700 for the only chains then approved by your car's manufacturer. Approach from Omeo is a very different kettle.
Sandy San, if you are around, can you post a pic of the snow chains you had on the Sandymobile.
Here we go. These are brilliant!!!!! Super grip, once tightened, they do not move around, as the friction of rubber on rubber doesn't allow them to slip on the tyre.
This is where the logic (of RMB) escapes me.
Sandys "chains" are made from a similar compound to his tyres. Ie a hard rubber composite
So QED they would work better than a completely metal chain.
They would also wear similar to a tyre.
So Aldi chains... seem ok.
You can see they also have steel studs in them. The grip on ice is WAY better than typical diamond pattern chains.
"The logic of the RMB"......
You started it all wrong.
I wouldn't say it's got anything to do with intellect. Sandy had them on his car, and I thought they would probably work well at Hotham. I have never seen them stocked locally - let alone tested.
Someone has a invested interest in seeing every chain banned except diamond pattern...
If they haven't noticed, the very fact of the diamond shape, either side the chain has gapeing pockets of exposed tyre... at least with the so-called spider chains, their is permanent engagement of chain to tarmac , compared with diamond pattern chains...
Fitted correctly, and driving sensible, I can't believe the claims this chain can work itself loose...
